Starcraft can compared to the movie film (Alien vs. Predator)

Umm... I said it before, if AvP2 had Marines than yes... they can be compared quite closely... AvP might have sucked but thats irrelevant... All it needs is a good Director.

 

But i think marines are not desame as like those humans in Avs.P movie.

 

Not Have that was after SC was released but Starcraft was inspired by Aliens a large amount of Terran quotes are from the movie and the dropship was made too be reminiscent of the Aliens dropship. and of course the hydralisk's look is a no brainer

Yes my friend in short this movie film is really similar to Starcraft

 

yeah, traditionally there are really only two alien archtypes... (makes one wonder if there's any legitimacy)

there's the humaniod, advanced tech alien and the swarm of bugs alien.... most alien stories incorporate one or both of these ideas

then there is of course the hispanic alien =P

but yeah, I think it's clear that popular movies have provided a lot of the basic concepts for Blizzard... Blizzard isn't really known for their mind-boggling creativity anyway... they're known for taking established concepts and doing them better than anybody else has or will

 

Holy crap I don't know how I didn't notice this before. I've watched Alien vs. Predator and played Starcraft: Brood War in the same day too! Definitely looks like two Starcraft units facing off. Zerg vs. Predator. I think in the animated picture you have posted in the beginning of the thread looks like the face of the OLD Dark Templar, if it's face was metallic instead of err... whatever else a Dark Templars face is made out of.

I noticed there were a lot of details Starcraft took from movies. Like :

- The Goliath's speech from Robocop, the Big robot ED 209.
- Starship Troopers insectoid aliens like the Zergs. And another detail, the counter that showed the number of dead people on Earth by the insectoids when they launched an asteroid on Earth, compared to the same counter in Brood War, at the last cinematic of the Terran campaign. When we hear Dugalle telling "their number is calculated in millions".
- Alien : there was a woman inside a dropship who had to rescue Ripley. She had the exact face of the dropship pilot.
Another detail, when Ripley entered inside an Alien Base. It was first a human base, but infested by the aliens. The same decoration than the Zerg command screen, and the Zerg Briefing room.
- Predator : of course the predator seems to be a Protoss.

 

You forgot to mention that the thing the dropship pilot says are directly quoted from Aliens

 

avp-r (alien versus predator-requiem) just came out a few days ago...

 

That was done intentionally. They even based speech and things like that off the pilot from Alien.
