there will be some mission where you have to battle through massive enemy emplacements of 2-3 fractions against you to destroy/ activate some ancient weapon of the xel naga.

NO NO NO NO NO

games to movies will suck 85% of the time(alone in the dark, bloodrayne,SUPER MARIO BROTHERS, tomb raider) and if a great game like starcraft has a movie made by anyone but blizzard entertainment, it would hurt more then help.

It'll probably go on until Blizzard is no longer a company. As good a company as they are, its like 10 years per game with an expansion about 1 to 1 1/2 years after the game is released. So, StarCraft 3 will be around in 2018 with the expansion around 2019. Then StarCraft 4 will be 2028. Of course by then you will have an entire room devoted to the screen, computer and everything. And the screen in this case will be a 3D holographic image of the battlefield displayed on your floor or a tabletop and you will control units with special gloves on your hands and by voice commands.

I'm taking a shot....we'll have at least ONE of the original heroes still around...either Raynor or Zeratul I'm guessing, by this time we'll have a 4th race, we'll be able to put ourselves INTO the game (I'm so being a zealot or battlecruiser commander) aaaaaaaannnnnndddddd....we gon play some main character's kid when they're grown up and we'll have plenty of ppl saying how they're a pussy and we liked their daddy/mommy better

all i can say is that the terran wins this time around. the zerg will be defeated and peace will riegn supreme in the galaxy.

Daggoth and some other unnamed Cerebrates melded together and became the 2nd Overmind aka "The Pet". Zeratul killed them/him by killing that Overmind.

Now why would they do that? There's possibly not one chance they would ever even consider going to Earth, i mean, what do they need there?

Well, technically, every time you play as the zerg, you're a cerebrate, so I'm guessing there's still cerebrates out there, and they could make another overmind if they wanted to.

Yeah but Kerrigan is probably forcing them to stay apart to prevent that from ever happening.

I speculate that Ms. Queen of the Universe Kerrigan will gather up her broods and take some random planet. It doesn't really matter what it is; Braxis, Char, or Aiur, I don't mind. Mengsk will begin to recreate Korhal, and Raynor will have a big problem with that. The Protoss will quietly rebuild at Shakuras, not interfering with anything for a while. Then Duran appears with Hybrids, and destroys everything.

My point exactly. Since Cerebrates are not part of the collective consciousness of the Swarm, they are individual and sentient, in other words self-aware of their vulnerability (particularly now that the previous Overminds have been killed) and thus susceptible to threats and blackmail. Selfpreserving behaviour i believe it's called.

hey maybe UED could be a cool new 4th race (starcraft 2 expansion). you know two terrans, well UED will no longer be called terran anymore. all their units will be different and new this time around to counter the terran dominion, zerg and protoss. that would be awesome. just my imagination.

yes also in broodwar the last mission of the zerg, all 3 groups (mengsk , ued, and the protoss) formed an alliance to fight kerrigan. i really hate alliances happening. because it makes the races looks weak.i hope there will be none in starcraft 2.

and also in zerg mission you fight other zergs, terran vs terran, protoss vs protoss (well this is pretty much scripted story line so just we can know and experience what it is like fighting with the same race in starcraft) in regards if you have played the campaign first and not skirmishes or multiplayer the first time you installed starcraft.

i hope in starcraft 2 there will be no more race fighting their own kind except for the terran dominion and UED (their story is good). but for the protoss i think if another treason of any protoss group or conclave interference will happen then it would be crap (here we go again, same story with that of starcraft original). and i hope kerigan will be the overmind itself just to avoid any zerg vs zerg conflict again in starcraft 2.

starcraft 1 campaign was good, but i don't like the similar things happening again in starcraft 2.

You could be on to something there. In fact, maybe we could be seeing subraces in SC2, in campaign mode at least. Remeber the high elves in WC3? They were entirely based on the human race, but with different designs and some different units I think (although I'm only half sure about the diff. units part). I mean come on! Look at the designs on the dark protoss units (immortal vs. stalker, tempest vs. old carrier, other stuff...). I'm thinking they're going to split the terrans, zergs and protoss into different sides, giving them some common basics (units and structures) then making new ones exclusive to one side. And they'd still end up HAVING "THREE RACES". Just multiple factions, is all...

Yeah but if you think about it, the reason the story is so powerful is because Kerrigan is an infested human with a fucked up past, and who used to have a kind heart. It would make the story not-so-cool if the new leader was an infested alien, not many people could relate to that. I kinda hope Kerrigan doesn't die, I'm excited about Duran but I don't want him to take control over the universe over Kerrigan.

If my facts are correct, Kerrigan was voted the second best villain in video game history. (Although I think she IS the best in movie and video game history.)
