Like when they killed off pretty much every human hero in WarCraft 2?

Maybe they will lure Kerrigan onto a gigantic psi emitter and a bunch of probes will zap her to death because she is so entranced by the psionic energy of the huge psi emitter...

Most human heroes didn't appear in warcraft 3, remember Aleria, Turalyon, Danath, Kurdran and Sky'Rie are barely mentioned in wc3. But remember that in starcraft the story was alot more important than in wc2. wc2 had 2 storylines with which whoever you play wins the war.

I didn't really play Wc2, but wasn't Uther the Lightbringer form Wc3 supposed to be in Wc2 too? I heard it somewhere, but I'm not really sure.

As for a storyline ending, Zeratul could somehow kill Kerigan. Raynor, filled with anger because he vowed to kill her, turns on Zeratul to take his final revenge. In the end, Zeratul defeats and kills him, but is left spiritually alone, forced to live with the guilt of killing all those dear to him... forever!

The end.

Kerrigan controls all the Zerg in the Kropulu Sector (Dominion Space). It is possible that there are Zerg outside the Kropulu but I doubt there's many of them, and they would have probably be slightly different to the common Zerg. Theoretically all the Zerg in the universe were supposed to be controlled by the Overmind before it was killed by Tassadar. Since it appears the Overmind has warped all of the Zerg to Aiur for the invasion, it is possible that there's no Zerg at all outside the sector.

I know I have already said this in a diferent topic, but I insist that Fenix will return as an Immortal to aid the Protoss-Human alliance reclaim aiur!

i dont like alliances happening that much in the starcraft story like in sc1. i hope in sc2 each race sticks to each own kind and make war with the other races. anyway the only alliance that i am pro with would be the terran rebellion (raynor) and with the protoss. i dont like kerrigan joining with the protoss again, well the protoss has learned their lessons.

i think it would be a cliffhanger. but it wont be stupid.

a few heroes dies here and there but nothing really had won yet.

so after a year and half an expansion of the game will come.

With even more units... will this worry the people complaining that SC2 will have more units than Brood Wars did? Probably.

The giant psi emitter/probe thing was a rip on how lame the WC3 ending was.
SC2 will have a little cliffhanger (like SC and BW did) but it will also be a good ending I'm sure.

Well in SC the only cross-faction alliance that was made was the Raynor's Raiders-Protoss. Mengsk really had no friendly dealings with them and he didn't even take part in the destruction of Overmind nr1.

In BW, sure Kerrigan allied the Dominion and the Protoss but only to serve her own ends, so in truth she wasn't really allying them but more playing them when they were the most desperate and naive.
And neither of said parties liked eachother but decided to play nice (Mengsk and Fenix that is) to preserve Kerrigans vaunted "alliance".

Now that the alliance between them is broken, Mengsk will continue to expand, furthering the danger of the Dominion succumbing to the Swarm, while the Protoss will continue sterilize the infected worlds. That's when the Dominion and the Protoss will clash, cause Mengsk hates seeing Dominion worlds die, and if Gastovil is even half the patriot Mengsk is, he's gonna be real hard-ass about not letting the Protoss interfere with Dominion business.

My speculation.

I was playing the SC Protoss campaign the other week, and i thought to myself: "Why the hell did they have to kill off such an awesome hero?"
I support Ghost in this matter. FENIX <3

I'm hoping the UED to make a return perhaps on the expansion if not in SC2, they still maintain a powerful military on Earth and with the loss of their expeditionary force, I believe they will get more desperate to take care of the zerg and the protoss. remember that their defeat would not have been possible without the alliance

odd, i thought that the alliance was required because the UED had a pet overmind. but it's been a while, maybe i'm wrong...

Brood War's Zerg campaign gave us the rather unusual Zerg-Terran-Protoss alliance. Which was the Kerrigan-Jim-Fenix alliance. They did regain control over much of the territories captured by the UED. The UED will be unlikely to return with another fleet and another general just to control a situation several light years away. LOL they are not that dumb I hope

Oh yeah and the reason they made story so that Fenix dies is because they want both Arcturus and Jim to swear revenge on Kerrigan. And the best way to do it is the kill their best pals. Duke dies and Fenix dies. So Blizzard have probably already thought of the basic story for SC2 where Raynor and Mengsk will kill the queen b*tch

I imagine that the Protoss will be focused on taking back Auir, Mengsk will be trying to conquer the sector, and Kerrigan will be doing the same until the Xel'naga and/or hybrids appear and throw the three factions into disarray.

I think that the Xel'naga are all dead, but maybe in this game some kind of more active relicts would be shown, like some diary about creating the zerg and protos

but I think something like from blade2 (movie) would be cool, Duran created the hybrid, and the hybrid started to destry the zerg or taking control over them. Karighan would need help to regain power and a special alliance will be created to destroy the hybrid

I'm thinking Kerrigan kills Zeratul, and then Raynor gets Kerrigan. Duran probably builds up to either a SC3 or the expansion to SC2 with the hybrids. But if it were up to me Kerrigan would stay alive :-\ or Duran would kill them all
