Hello everyone, ive just joined the website a few mintes ago. Im a huge fan of starcraft, mainly for the it's creative and ingenious storyline, but I also respect it's balanced and fun gameplay. Ive always speculated the outcome of the story for starcraft 2, even before I knew it was being developed. My vision of the story is that amidst the on-going conflict between the zerg, terran, and protoss forces, the xel naga return to oversee the birth of their newest creation, the protoss/zerg hybrid. Its ironic how both protoss and zerg were seeking what each lacked that the other had; the protoss strived for unity by adopting the khala system, while the zerg strived to perfect their form by assimilating other races into their fold. I think its quite interesting of the possibility of a hybrid race, having both the zerg's purity of essence, and the protoss' purity of form. Having both the zerg's swarm capability, and the protoss' powerful psychic abilities, the hybrids are evolutionary perfect, and seemingly unstoppable. All they lacked was one thing; a central, omni-present, non-sentient being to control, and unify them as a single entity. So, the Xel-naga initiate the final step to perfect the hybrids, by incorperating their entire race into becoming the hybrid's overmind, and they use kerrigan somehow to accomplish this. In the bonus mission of starcraft: brood war, the one where zeratul learns of duran seeding the hybrid race, duran (most likely an agent working for the xel naga or a xel naga himself disguised as a terran) mentions that kerrigans rebirth into the swarm has spead up his progress. Infact, when I was browsing this forum page, I came across one post saying that there may be a new race derived from kerrigan--so says blizzard. This is what lead me to speculate kerrigan's possible involvement with the xel naga, and how the plot could twist from the other races fending off the zerg commanded by kerrigan, to fending off the hybrids, and trying to stop the xel naga from completing the final step to the hybrid's evolution. If the xel naga suceed, all other life in the universe will soon seize to exist, and the hybrids will become the supreme, and only species of the universe. So, the old races band together to try and put a stop to this grand scheme. This was just my idea anyways, ide sh*t a brick the size of texas if I was right. Anyways, I hope you all liked my idea.

Well lichking, I never thought the hybrid or the xel naga would be a playble race, more like an ultra-powerful NPC race. These races dont have to be playable for the story to revolve so heavily around them. If you look at Warcraft 3, the demons of the burning legion were not a playable race, yet they played a huge role in the game's single player campaign. I figured the campaign of starcraft 2 will pick up where broodwar left off and gradually move towards the xel naga's return, and the hybrid's awakening.

Having the story revolve just around the three original races seems boring to me; it will be too similar to the original starcraft storyline, protoss vs. terran vs. zerg. Why not introduce something new to make the story even more compelling then what it originally was, and make way to an even more grand conclusion that will truly make the game feel complete? Im certain blizzard is thinking the same thing.

I heard some rumors about some of the Protoss on Shakuras breaking off into a faction of their own intent to reclaim Aiur. Maybe that's going to be the center of SC2 protoss-wise. And since Zeratul is such a kick-ass character he will of course have his moments in the story.

Terrans, well, Mengsk got himself a new General judging from the gameplay trailer, one with a glowing eye, a nice little fuzzy moustache and a pipe (!). I suppose the story will revert to his attempts to reclaim the systems stolen from him by Kerrigan. Jim Raynor ought to make appearances as well but judging by his friendship with Zeratul and the late Fenix i'd wager we'd see him in the Protoss campaign rather, maybe aiding them in ridding Aiur of Kerrigans zerg (provided she controls them, of course).
Of course it could be exactly the opposite, Jim Raynor being the central figure for the SC2 Terran Campaign, focusing on his efforts to kick Kerrigans ass. Anything is possible.

The zerg... well, to be real honest i do not think Kerrigan just cuts it when it comes to being sole, undisputed ruler of the zerg. Judging by what she told the cerebrate (aka the player) in Brood War, she doesn't really exert any control over the Cerebrates, but rather threaten them into serving her. Such rules are in most cases overthrown, resulting in a new Overmind perhaps.

And Samir Duran and his Hybrids should probably have their share of the stagelights as well, most likely towards the end of the campaign(s).

Definitely some Protoss will miss their homeworld terribly and wanted to return there. I personally would like to see the Protoss return to Aiur because I'm kind of attached to it as well. Beside I'm too used to hearing Aiur this Aiur that and My life for Aiur. Remember Aldaris and the Khalai survivors in a Brood War mission that wanted to take on the Dark Templars and because they felt it was wrong to abandon Aiur? That could be the cause.

Kerrigan's ass will get kicked HARD! A joint alliance of Raynor, Zeratul and Fenix (voices from the grave) will bring Kerrigan down! And Duran? He's too sneaky, you never know which side he's on. I think I want to see him dead also.

the way i hope it will be, it that kerrigan and the zerg manage to assimilate the terrans, all except for raynor's raiders. then there will be a bunch of infested ghosts (inferior to kerrigan, of course, and probably without psionic storm) along with mengsk killed or infested. i never liked him. then raynor, artanis, and zeratul will all team up, and kerrigan will go

Even though you destroyed him long ago, the Queen Bitch of the Universe is here to finish his job. And there will be no Tassadar to die for you, no Fenix to let you escape, no Aldaris to warn you, and no psi disruptor to stop me. Not this time.'

There'll always be the determination of Jim and the power of Zeratul. Those 2 are much loved heroes in the starcraft series and they'll certainly not let Kerrigan get what she wants this time.

In response to the posts about the Protoss faction wanting to reclaim Aiur, I heard about that too....Not sure where though. It may provide for an interesting plot twist though, and there'll obviously be a new Protoss hero if there is.....Unless Artanis leads them.

If my memory serves me correct Artanis was quite reluctant to side up with the Dark Templars. So he is a viable choice for their leader.

You know what? All the Protoss should start learning and using the Dark Templar's energy. And even convert to the using the DT's energies. Everyone of them should do it!

WHY?

Because only the Dark Templar's energy can truly kill the Overmind and Cerebrates. So if every Protoss learn to use them. Then every one of them can join in the fun of slaughtering Cerebrates

Well that's a good idea, but the Zerg don't realy have any rel cerebrates left... There's Daggoth, but he's missing, the Earth Overmind, fat chance of Protoss going to Earth, and the Player. I don't know about you, but I'm not to fond of seeing DTs jumping up at me and slashing at my interface.

I was under the impression that in zerg missions you were a cerabrete(sp) and i though kerrigan only controled the zerg in dominion space aren't there rouge zerg

yes, zeratul will be the master of the universe.

he is the ultimate protagonist or maybe antagonist. just look at him.
this guy zeratul clowns all. he will kill kerrigan.
if artanis would be anakin or vader. then zeratul is obi wan kenobi.
zeratul vs artanis cinematic, the duel of fate.

Suposed to die:
Kerrigan (I know even who is suposed to kill her. Not zeratul, not Mengsk but...Raynor)
Zeratul (it will be some kind of redemption for him, his very unhappy now, after he killed Matriarch)

Maybe will die:
Duran (the worst son of a... in all SC storyline, so i hope that Zeratul will finish him off)
Mengsk (he is a "master of survival" in SC, but he have also many enemies)

Unlikely to die:
Artanis (too young)
Jim Raynor (a main protagonist, seen in all campaigns in first SC. I trully believe his not going to die)

Fenix will somehow come back as an Immortal and will reveal that he has been re-building in some distant planet and invade the universe with massive fleets of total pj00nz0riness.
