Starcraft 2 Release Date?

why do you think june 2009

 

When StarCraft II is ready to go, Blizzard will announce that it has gone "gold". Then it'll be available in stores a few days later.

 

Seems to me it will be at that moment. Normally it should be for Christmas of this year, but they will finalise it until June, about six months after the end of this year.

The game is about to be finished. They are just balancing the game. 11 months for now is far enough for the balance, and the creation of some last units.

The cinematics ? They have already done them. Maybe they are finalizing them too. One year again to finish them is too much.


Yes, according to me, June 2009 is the month of the release of Starcraft 2. Of course after that moment we will get prepared to download masses of patches. Because the game will get a lot of bugs that Blizzard will not get time to solve.
Prepare to be disappointed by the first version. They will surely then release the second version in November 2009. With a lot of upgrades.

 

Late 2009 I'd say for starcraft2. Is anyone anticipating Diablo3 I know I am that will be at least 4 years lol.

 

Considering every game Blizzard has made since the mid 90's has changed the face of gaming along with the impact of WOW, you would think that Blizzard now has the time and money to put out high quality games quicker than usual. I understand that it takes time to balance and fine tune but damn I guess I am just way to excited for it to come out.

 

We will know definitively within 2 1/2 months. (After Blizzcon). The Beta could start within a couple months!!

 

I say in about a month or so we find out a release date then december it comes out

Maybe is it possible that the Terran in Starcraft 2 are the worst race. They need more balance surely

 

Bah, forget about balance, the game is still in alpha.

 

Maybe June 2009 will be the release date for the Beta version, when Blizzard will be looking for some big players, big fans who will test the game

So the official release of the game will be for Christmas 2009. Else, if they are too turtled, June 2010

So wtf is terran suck id would rather buy the game and wait for patches than wait for another year

 

Trust me guys, we will have the beta, or beta announcement by October at Blizzcon. There is no way the game is that far from completion.

Wow....looks like Lich King is being released this year. Sadly this probably means SC2 won't be released until next year...boo!!

Back to the thread - I don't care when the beta is released, I just want to know when the game is released. Relax guys, they'll announce it soon.

 

I've heard multiple times that blizzard is (was) about 1/3 of the way through finishing the campaign and that alot of infomation about the campaign would be released at the end of the year...so theres no chance it'll be released before 2009

Yea but that was information released something like 3-4 months ago. If they are focusing most of development effort on the single player I would expect that its probably beyond 2/3rds done at this poin.

it would make sense. The game looked pretty good ONE YEAR ago. the guy said really they were just working on balance and visuals. They've tightened things up for over a year since, with 4 months still remaining. It should be ready. Hopefully the mac version will be ready, too...cause that's what i use
