StarCraft 2 Rated AO in Korea

actually those are illegal to make in japan now. Some law they passed over there after a game called Rapelay. Rape, lolicon, orgies and class presidents are now illegal to put in hentai games.

 

I know. I saw that a while ago on System Wars. Good for them.

That still doesn't mean they won't be made and get into the hands of the populace.

 

12 year old Koreans don't whine, they will beat you 10 times before they even talk.

 

I'm almost positive the decision to do this is based primarily on the massive social problem "PC bars" are in Korea. There are constant government interventions trying to combat the enormous amount of time spent in these places - it is considered a huge social problem.

Korea is a very capitalist and economy-driven country with people working insane hours and barely taking vacations - time spent by youngsters and adults alike in these PC bars is considered a drain on the economy and somewhat of a scourge.

This whole mess has been exacerbated by a recent case where a couple's baby starved to death because the parents spent all their time in a PC bar playing an RPG (where ironically the objective was to raise a child).
This got a lot of media coverage and has thrown a big spotlight on the whole problem once again, and the government is facing severe pressure to do something about it.

They have recently put into works a new measure in the wake of this, which slowly throttles your bandwidth if you spend too much time continuously playing.

I feel this AO rating may be largely to do with getting the youngsters out of these PC bars. Just my 2 cents.

And if this delays release that really sucks for me, because I DO live in Korea
