StarCraft 2 Beta Information Found!

Hell with the disclaimer we dont have to hurt ourselves we can hurt blizzard employee's instead

 

Thus this is interesting but infact

-we still don't know when the beta is coming out but i can guess soon

-blizzard is still working hard on the campaign and also as we looked at with the dark pylon thing blizzard is still adding and subtracting things as blizzard doesn't release a lot and leaves alot up the the imagination. truly nothing is final and as we can see that multiplayer and single player are going to work out differently and have different aspects i guess blizz is just wateing to get their units as balanced and set as possible before they release this just like they did with all their games.

-we don't know everything yet (there is alot they don't talk about) and its possible their might be more units to add or take out so i can't agree with the talk of multiplayer being pretty much done because if it was we would have the beta date.

-The beta will probably be out near the upcomeing summer but knowing blizzard that is just a estimate and also it seemingly will only deal with multiplayer to see what people think of it on their own time (its most likely a way to see about how well things are going to be balanced but most of you already probably know that)

My thoughts on this is that its just more information and it might be relevant and it might not but until i see something final from a blizzard person nothing is final.

 

The Dark Pylon/Large SCV thing makes me think that they are going to a give a special trick to each side's resource gathering. Frankly, I would have preferred simply having workers receive either a combat or resource gathering upgrade.

For example:
SCV: Can gather up to 60 Minerals before returning
Drone: Can "infest" a Mineral field, you lose the Drone and 50 Minerals for a stationary structure that can mine without a Hatchery nearby, but is vulnerable to attack.
Probe: Significantly better movement speed when it has full shields (IE, recharge energy goes to movement.)

 

Your examples don't encourage macro. The big SCV and temporary Probe speed requires you to check back from time to time when the cooldown's done.

 

all i know is that we should have a little more faith in the blizzard team and let them, the professionals make the changes and tweeks. and when i buy the game thats when a full decision whether its good or not will be made.

Also, when the game ships that's when it's too late to fix anything so if you have a problem with something now's the time to say something.

 

how often does blizzard rep's read this forum over their own forum?

 

No one knows. They get information somehow and I HlllllllllGHLY doubt it's from their own forum. If you wonder why then just look at it. It's more troll infested than GameFAQs.

That doesn't make sense at all. They've always acknowledged that it exists, they've just never said much about when. Now, it is more of them not telling us when. The only change is that the non-specified when, is now a specific non-specified when, and not a range of possible whens.

 

When is the when going to when?

 

Sadly I'm going to have to face the fact that I probably won't be among those who get to play the Beta

why do beta keys have to be given to pro's only it should be given to anyone who wants it
kinda like the Grand Trismo 5 how they came out with a prologue. anyone who purchased the original sc game should be given a free beta key to play the multiplayer only, to test out the game. I'd say its better when you have noobs trying to play it too to see how user friendly it is. and not absolutly complicated to play and enjoy.

I say we earned that much for the wait they have given all of us.

Blizz is so cruel. They announce that they know the date for the Beta, but won't tell us? Inhuman.

 

AT Muncie I disagree, if they did that, not only would they have an insane amount of people but they would have to dissipher through emails and emails of 'OMG I HAD 8 DRONES OUT AND THE AI OUT PRODUCED ME MAKE IT EASIER!!!!111' to get to any information that would actually be helpful to them. A demo sure but not an open beta.

And they haven't actually announced it, they supposedly told a random fan...

 

well they shouldn't give out their emails then LOL. what are forums for? They are for the public to speak their minds, create ideas and vent out bull**** about a specific unit, level, movie what ever it is. Its also use to seek out information that could not otherwise be found on a website like www.starcraft2.com .Blizzard can take in the information they only need from the forums and judge what needs to delt with and what doesn't.

i just feel that it should be equal and anyone who wants the beta/demo should be entitled to one

I agree with overmind and also why did this one person get told and no one else.

Until something gets announced by someone like Karune or is acully in one of the playable demo games I don't believe it.

Remember the Beta isn't out yet and a date hasn't been released by blizzard and everything is up to be changed till the game actually comes out.

 

There is a length of time of no news after which a reliable forum post becomes news. We are well past that time.

The post is relatively reliable and is the first dribble of information that can be at all verified about the beta. Therefore it's news.

Their option adds more macro options, mine adds more strategic options. I suppose that now that I think about it, their element was less an upgrade for workers and more an excuse for macro, given that rally points removed some of SC1's original macro and the Vespene Gas shutdown mechanic was retarded and hated by everyone. Still, I'd prefer strategic options over macro options.
