StarCraft 2 Beta Confirmed For This Summer!

If December 09 is the only thing we can reasonably hope for, than why is Blizzcon scheduled for August instead of December? At the VERY latest we should expect SCII by September, possibly November, but definitely not December.

 

You have to give them time to receive that data from the beta and make any corrections so expecting it in December, at the earliest, is reasonable.

 

What should BlizzCon have to do with the beta? It's never been an indication of anything in the past. But, let me put it this way. In order for StarCraft 2 be out by August or September, the beta would had to have started in March or April.

When the beta starts, add five months to that. That would be a reasonable guess for when the game will be released. It could be as soon as four months but anything below five months is asking for disappointment. This is the way Blizzard works. Is this the first time you've followed a Blizzard game in development? It seems so.

Hell, everyone could be disappointed with the game so Blizzard goes back into development for another year. Nothing is for certain with Blizzard. Even if Blizzard issued a statement right now saying they were 100% sure they could make a December release, it wouldn't be for certain.

If your referring to who they will allow to play beta the chinese will get a turn. their turn is just a little bit later then english speaking countries...if I have my facts right.

Who is to say they are going to have the closed beta going for 3 to 4 months? Did a blue respond that SC2 was going to have a 3 to 4 month closed beta?

I really don't see that as a logical possibility. Because if i remember right a blizzard rep confirmed that the beta would not have a NDA. Meaning everyone in the beta could be making videos.

Wouldn't that kind of ruin the hype of the game if there were tons of videos made by beta testers? I really don't see blizzard letting the beta go on for 3 to 4 months. Everyone would have been there and done that already because they watched so many videos in that time span.

So unless Blizzard puts a NDA for the beta I really don't think they are going to even have a 3 to 4 month beta.

But seeing and playing are different experience.

I didn't say StarCraft 2 would take a year to be released. I'm pretty sure it'll be out by December or February at the latest.
