"Starcaft 2 requires a patch"?

How do you get that log? Im using windows 7.... can you explain me the steps to follow to get that? to see if Im having the same problem as you.

This problem isn't Windows specific. I'm running a Mac OS X 10.5.8, don't have IE because it doesn't exist for the mac, but have no proxy or firewall. When I start the program I am told I need a patch and to click "ok" to install it. When I click Ok, the program instantly quits.

I just installed it on my Win 7 32 Bit laptop WITH NO PROBLEMS at all... GONNA TRANSFER MY FILES to my 64 and post results.

 

Im using a Win 7 32 bit laptop HP Pavilion... and I still having the same problems as before... I dont know what to do...

by the way, Im living in a residence in London, the WiFi is really good but it is shared, for 100people... is there any problem with that?

what do you recommend me guys?

I feel like the easiest solution for the rest of us folks would be for blizzard to update their direct patch download site page. By tomorrow maybe?

 

You mean that we will be able to download the Starcraft II patch from the battlenet website without having any problems with the Starcraft II launcher anymore?

That would be perfect, coz I cant play Starcraft II now and seriously I have no idea what to do if Blizzard dont fix this problem... or maybe is my problem but I dont know how to fix it...

Let's see what happens... any solutions?

 

Well, apparently for me the router is not the problem.. since I can install on my laptop (WIFI win 7 32 bit) but not on my i7 920/GTX 295/with REALTEK network card.. maybe the card is the problem?

 

Im using WiFi... but the thing is that Im not sure if there is a huge firewall on the router for the people of the residence... I've never had any problems trying to play any of the games or trying to enter in any websites... being sincerelly... I have no idea what to do...

Hope Blizzard fix this soon, otherwise Im going to get crazy without playing SC2.

Well, I installed on my laptop and transfered all the files over to my desktop and finally I can play... but this is a temp solution!

This is going no where hey? have had the game for almost 2 days but cant run the patcher. hangs at 17% then close it and having the same "Starcraft requires an update" click ok then loop lopp looopie.

 

So, what should we do? Wait? Is there anything we can do from now on to fix our problems? :S

I have been wrestling with this for over 6 hours and, I must admit, I am thoroughly pissed off at Blizzard for such a horrendous launch of one of the biggest games ever. This is embarrassing and they should be thoroughly humiliated by the problems people are having. Luckily, they are aware of the problem: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/109981069?page=1

Unfortunately, there is nothing most of us can do except wait. That is a real pisser, isn't it? All they needed to do to alleviate this problem was to put the ****ing patch on their support site BEFORE the launch. No one has even posted these anywhere on the net for mac users, though you can download the patch files for windows users from community forum sites, I believe.

This is the worst product launch I have ever seen. First Apple's iPhone is shipped with a MAJOR defect and now Blizz has one of the buggiest releases I have seen with NO support documents to help new users with a massive release.

Another thing that really pisses me off is that I can't post any of this on battle.net because I can't launch the game to create a ****ing character!

 

I'm having this problem on XP SP 2 with a 9600M GT, I think it's clear there are probably a few different causes but none of the solutions posted so far have helped me.

Does anyone know where we stand at the moment? Is there a direct download for the patch available?
