I think the next step is to ring/email technical support. Yelling at- err I mean asking them nicely to work this problem out.

I don't understand why they couldn't make the patch available for download separately for exact issues as this...

Well you could always dl the crack if you are just interested in playing single player, not that I ever would >_> even if I did pay for the game and it is their fault it isn't working.

Having the same problem, and I am in the U.S.

Got off the phone with Blizzard Tech after an hour of trying all sorts of things, with NO luck. I ended up sending them my PC info for them to better figure out the issue. I was told they would "get back to me soon." Whatever that means.

I am pretty frustrated to say the least... >=\

I am running Windows 7, and have an Nvidia GTS 250... So its not an ATI issue... And I think someone else mentioned to be having the problem on a MAC, so I dont think its a Windows issue...

Am also experiencing this issue. Am in new zealand. My internet connection is normally bandwidth speed but its capped and ive exhausted my cap for this month, but by the sounds of the amount of ppl here, its not an internet speed issue. Extremely frustrating.

Windows Vista here. Nvidia 8400M GS.

Have WoW installed, but cancelled my accound months ago. Conflicting WoW/SC2 downloaders/updaters wouldnt be an issue would they.

I have also noticed something, when trying to run the game from the StarCraft II\Versions\Base15405 folder (SC2.exe file) I get an error that says: "This application has failed to start because icuuc44.dll was not found." could everyone experiancing the patch problem also try running the SC2.exe I think the two may be related.

Did anyone else have to manually activate their installation because it was unable to be done online?

    !!! Fixed !!!

    !!! FIXED !!!

Well fixed for me.. And I decided to be a good samaritan and sign up to let everybody know what the issue was in my case.

For me, and you guys will love this... I have PeerBlock, and as soon as I disabled that, StarCraft II updated on launch.

I'd say anybody running PeerGuardian might have the same problem too.

I must admit I didn't think of it right away cos you don't really think of PeerBlock as your firewall, but obviously Blizzard servers are blacklisted in there.

Hope this fixes the problem for at least some of you :)

    I'm off to play!

Unfortunately I don't have PeerGuardian so this did not help me but thanks for the information anyway.
