    it works....
    it works

try it on a window vista

This issue has been really annoying me for the last few hours until I caught a break and found something that worked for me. What the issue seems to be for me at least is Internet Explorers proxy settings - I came upon the issue when another program was having a connection issue and investigated how to fix that which in turn resulted in fixing my issues with SC2 updating.

What you need to do is either go into Internet explorer and into internet options or follow the steps below:

    Start > Run> inetcpl.cpl

This will open up your IE Internet options window.

    Select the Connections Tab

    Click LAN Settings

If checked, uncheck proxy server settings

This right here is what I did and my updater worked straight away and I have updated the game and been happily playing albeit only for a few minutes as I wanted to share what worked for me to see if it would help anyone else out.

Please reply back if this fixes your issue.

    Patch Loop

I've had serious issues installing this game. I've got the patch looping issue. But it's different than just that, after the patch loop, I can't use my Internet on my computer for like 30 minutes (I've tried restarting and plugging the cable in-out). I've did the proxy thing, opening the ports on my MacFee and Window Firewalls and running the game on administrator mode. I'd like help with this issue, keep in mind every time it fails, my Internet goes out for 30 minutes.

Can someone kindly help me (my post is above), or atleast direct me to where I can find some? My Internet is from my dorm, does that affect installing the game?

Yes, your dorm is the problem. Try using the manual patch update information in the FAQ sticked in this forum. I have just updated it to have all the latest patch information. Wish I had more time to help, but I don't right now. :/ Praying I'll be back no later then Saturday.

I'm not sure if the same problem is still occuring, but i joined this forum just to notify the poeple with isuues that for the users of anti-viruses, the removal of a thing called "application control" will allow Sc2 to update the patch without exiting.

I hope it helps! It helped me ^^

I am now updating as we speek and if there are anymore issues of which i somehow fix, i'll post up soon.

    Good luck and Have fun!

If any else have failed you 'till now. Try restarting wipeing your ruter for random ports and restart it. That worked for me:)
