    5:50 then. Which is viable.

And does not include time spent watching replays, watching vods, thinking of strategies, waiting for the matchmaking, waiting for the loading screen(if those 2 sum up to 2 minutes, we instantly go from 5:50 to 7:00 and still not counting the rest of the stuff) or reading the scorescreen postmatch.
    And no AFK-ing!

You don't have to watch replays, vods, and think of strategies.

You can't dedicate so much time on starcraft and NOT watch replays, vods or spend time thinking about your own gameplay...

Maybe they get enough experience from their own games?

I might be a lil crazy though

And watch their own replays perhaps? And you can't be that interrested in something and not interrested in watching how pros do it at higher levels...

That reminds me of a conversation I once had with someone. The exact words are hard to translate, but I think I did this sentence nicely

"because the pros are egoistic and drug-addled, wallowing in the favor they they gain of the media, thinking themselves as gods of a world where they are central, they are needed, they are the prime and all of society depends on them and them doing well at what I do as just a hobby."

Stirlitz, you're making assumptions of the individuals who play that much. Have you considered asking them about it?

When you estimate 6 hours per day in-games then that usually means a lot more time spent doing that... It's deffinitely safe to assume that a master league player watches his own replays to improve, right? And it's safe to assume that someone who cares so much about something will try to improve: Watching own replays, high ranked replays and VoDs has been always part of improving in starcraft. As is spending some time thinking about what strat to use, or how to improve a build, and also practice.

I'm not making any assumptions that are not safe to make. And since I've know people who've spent more than 12 hours per day gaming(Both me and my roommate did that back during the first year at university), I'm sure that there are worse cases than that even...

I can't understand the point of the above posts though, lol. I just pointed out that when you have for example 100 hours of pure gameplay spread across 100 days, it's normal to assume more than 1hour/day spent gaming, due to downtime, gametypes that are not ladder, pauses, reps, whatever...

No assumptions are ever safe. You do not know that these people engage in anything sc2-related other than 2v2 league gameplay. Your entire post is bunk to me without solid facts.

"E-mail" is being used more and more in public.
It's scandalous! E-mail is bastard language!
The French Academy declares that "courriel" is the official term for E-mail.
Great, I'll send emails to notify the people!
    Imbecile!

This is how I translated that (roughly). How is my French doing since I stopped taking classes for it?

I don't care what this specific guy does, so I don't need facts about them.
It's a fact though that Starcraft enthusiasts watch casted matches.
It's a fact that if you wish to get better, you will study your own replays. Having played 3k games and being in master's league means that one does care about how well he plays.
It's also a fact that there is an average 2-3 min time lost between games in loading screen/finding a match, scoreboard. These add up the more games you play. For 3k games, these add up to ~100-150 hours.

Even if this specific guy is on one of the 2 ends of the gaussian distribution, I don't care. Chances are he'll spend time for all of these things. And I mean good chances. There's also the possibility that he's got an awesome PC that minimises loading, gets matched against people with similar awesome PCs, doesn't watch replays, doesn't watch vods, etc.

But the majority of people with 3k games played do all these things, since 3k games means they care about the game a freaking lot. So picking up a random guy out of the set of people with that amount of games, gives us a very-very safe bet that he's gonna spend all this extra time too...

And seriously, I don't see the point in this discussion, lol. Why care so much about this specific guy? There are tons of people who for some reason got for this period of time lots of free time in their hands. Let them do whatever they wish with it, even if it's playing starcraft games all day long, and not watch vods or replays of said games:p

And Fenix: Replace the thing that guy is chewing with a grenade, plz.
