I do understand the way the creation process of the director works

1. get drunk (no really, thats how they came up with it)
2. Think of the idea that would appeal most to a stereotypical male anime audience (Giant robots powered by willpower and evolution starring an all-scantily clad cast and no consequences from any action. OR Two angel magical girls, one lustful, one gluttonous, who remove clothing to turn it into weapons fight ghosts from hell so they can buy their way into heaven, from which they were banned for sinning)
3. Have a hangover
4. Start writing. Make heavy use of visual metaphors and symbolism. Alternate the art style for extra effect. (This stage makes it art)
5. Add epic battles
6. Start broadcasting episodes while finishing the last few episodes
7. Turn the last episode into a WTF sad mindscrew.
