Some protoss art too reminiscent of WoW

is it just me, or does the protoss zealot's head look a little strange on the icon?

 

I believe the stealth would be in the fact that they are invisible? You can't see 'em. Can't hear 'em. Ah... stealth. They're holding the scyths behind them to gain momentum to chop something in half... or something.

Oh and the fen walker looks like an overlord. Which totally came first.

 

Most of the WoW and WC3 art is made by the same person as most of the SC2 art we have seen so far

 

Yo dude, just cause i think they look similar doesn't mean im hating on the game.

 

The stalker and dark templar are very warcraftlike. The large onion-shaped thing on the dark templar's back, doesnt seem to serve any purpose and isnt found on any previous protoss, thus should be removed. Many Protoss units (stalker, mothership) have floating crystals and such that are reminiscient of the high elves in Warcraft 3.

 

They also had floating crystals (i.e. pylons) in starcraft 1 and that came out way before WC3.

 

Protoss have a unique feel in my opinion, they may resemble WC or WoW in some way but thats only because it's done by the same people. and until i see huge shoulder guards on a toss they aren't close enough to matter.

 

The person who does most of the art is Samwise. He also did a deal of the art on SC WC3 and WoW so they will have similarities. I couould of course do with a little more of Metzen's art since his terran stuff is so awesome. Anyone remember the manual with the terran marine with stuff all over his suit like the "Your ass here" on his boot. I could do with a little more of that and let samwise stick to drawing the aliens.

 

My god the crap i'v herd from some of u guys is horrable! Illidan looking like a DT! WTF! illidan dosent have a scyth or cape! and a stalker coming from WC3! WTF! what unit looks like a stalker from WC3??? if u can tell me that i'll agree with U!

 

For me still, there is a big difference between SC and WC

Its normal to remind you of something to be honest.

Everything you see reminds you of something. I like to see them as individual things thought. If you dont compare it with anything else it looks very,very cool.
