It will probably be a BIG down fall for strong biological units such as the Ultralisk. That will be pretty cheap, you spend a lot of money and time hatching it, just to get it hunted and shot down by ghosties as if it was sheeps to the slaughter. :p I wonder if they are going to change the stats to snipe or Ultra. I hope the snipe ability doesnt change ><. Ghost are 99% guaranteed to be used more by the terran.

Ultras do NOT have light armor, so they will only incur minimal damage ~10 per snipe if even that. Otherwise every Terran would spam Ghosts against Zerg and snipe every single unit.

WIck is partially right. The armored Ultra will not take the additional +100 damage vs light, but it will take the initial biological damage of 50, not 10 or even less.

This kind of balances it since you have to use several snipes to take an Ultra down. 9 shots if the Hp is the same (400).
That might sound like much, but snipe only costs 25 energy, so I think that Snipe vs. Ultra will lean only slightly towards Ultra.

well i think that the ghost snipe ability is a really cool one.
you shouldn't be able to snipe an ultralisk because it would not be a one shot kill. that is what a "snipe" is.

i just think it would be hilarious if you got enough snipers to instantly kill all of the enemys SCV line.

Is snipe a passive ability that uses energy that energy, or is it an active ability with a cooldown?

I don't think there's a cooldown. You can do it as long as you got the energy.

No, you have to choose it every time you want to use it. Like when using Lockdown.

You only need 25 energy to use Snipe.

You need to choose Snipe, and then choose a target. No "seering arrows". :p

hmmmm this is good info to know. I was under the impression that the ghost gained the attack bonus for all attacks against organic units.

    Thanks for clearing it up

The snipe itself can only be used against biological, and the Ghosts standard attack, which doesn't require energy, gets a +30 damage bonus vs light.

Where has Blizzard said it can only be used against biological and light armor? I'd suspect that you could use it against mechs if you wanted to but the effect would simply be weak.
