Shop Announcement: Reclaim Your Pets!

Correction, admin #1 is gone, but we've got our very own admin #2, who has done quite a lot of things for this site. Not near enough, but we shall tolerate his laziness for his Blizzcon coverage.

Sad to see you petless, Forsaken - I hope you get your stuff back eventually.

 

Yeah, I actually had quite a lot of them. The problem is, I don't know which mod had me in their list, and my account got removed by accident, maybe Jon doesn't believe me. (I made my own list of pets and items and send it to him, but he isn't responding.)

By the way, I know that the site still has an admin, but the old admin used to add quite a lot of stuff, and Jon is way to busy most of the time to make new pets and stuff. That's why I said that it's unlikely that we will see a lot of new items anytime soon.

 

I would expect you guys will see some new stuff over holiday time when my the college semester isn't pounding me in the face.

I also haven't forgotten about people who didn't get their pets back but I'm expecting a different solution than what we've done lately.

I think it's possible in the future that we may need to start the shop over if you guys ever want meaningful prizes.

I'm not all for wiping away everything that 1. means a lot to a lot of people and 2. shows contribution. Wiping them away would be like saying "thanks for helping, now sod off".

The only compromise I'd be fine settling for would be to give everyone the mineral equivalent of all their items (in full shop price exchange rate). But then people with very rare items would be screwed bigtime. Meh.

 

We would have some method of compensating people. But when you start a whole new system it can't always be 100% fair.

 

The current system isn't 100% fair either since some people have gotten screwed out of items you never brought back or that somone forgot they had and what not. Also didn't a few people get massive ammounts of minerals due to bugs when you were setting the shop up?

I can agee to the giving people minerals based on posts and what not if you reset it.

 

But then you openly accept postcount as the measure of worthiness, which is ridiculous. There are quite a few people who have contributed/earned their inventories without posting much.

 

Im also missing some of my items... I only have 1 zealot but I actually have 2...

There's no pleasing some people. I propose we wipe the slate clean. No that's unfair.
How bout we give minerals based on postcount. No that's unfair too.

The truth is NOTHING we can do will be fair to everyone. In fact the current system isn't even fair because not everyone who contributed got everything back. Right now the pets people have don't show true contributions.


The shop is screwed up by virtue of being different from the previous system. so why not wipe the slate clean and remove the errors so that the shop can be fair in the future? The people who actually contribute will end up with lots of minerals and items just as before and, barring bugs, those who do nothing but spam won't have much to show for it.

 

Conservative much? No, the shop is screwed because the records were partially lost during the move. That's none of the regular members' fault and yet they'd be the ones 'suffering' the most. Now while it seems I'm pointing fingers, I'm not actually frothing at the mouth or anything since these are only virtual, nonexistent items. But still...

 

So I'm not getting my old stuff back? :s
If someone can still give them back, here's a list of the stuff I used to have. People around here can confirm that I used to have these:

• 1st edition pets: probe, zealot, immortal, high templar, dark templar, twilight archon, marine, larva, baneling, zergling, hydralisk.
• items: 4 paladin figurines

I have an idea wich mod used to have a list of my stuff: LordKerwyn. He gave all the members with the startingletters E and G their items back, so I guess he was also responsible for the letter F. Should I send him a PM?

• 32 Tomatoes

 

I had every single pets in first edition and every single collectable items except for jim raynor.

 

Didn't Jon say that there would be an update, hence why the shop was closed for a few days, but I dont see any differences.

 

Maybe there's a new hidden mineral hunt. XD

 

yes...and the contents of the treasure box is all of the items that we will eventually lose...

 

I had 2 zealots and 3 marines, and 1k minerals extra.

It's not a lot, but what the heck. Saves me some time.

 

No, that was before you don't get them back now, that was before the shop was reimplemented and you bought your pets.

 

Claiming your pets no longer applies. We have all been reset, and are not getting any of it back.
