an interesting find paragon, hmm. I would probably assume the reason why the Dark Templar would choose such a place is because of the fact that they were fleeing from danger (the conclave of Aiur), so choosing Shakuras with all of its inhospitable features would make it a perfect hiding place for them.

When I first saw that picture 10 years or so ago, I was awed at its mysticism. When you were describing the "purple light" in your 3rd conclusion, it sort of reminded me of the light effects emanated from a Black Light Bulb.

i love threads where people try to apply real-life science other research to video games about aliens in space

you get interesting ideas and deductions, followed by challenges, followed by reinforcement and even more research, followed by the "oh, well...it's only a game" defense

PS - Power are you from Mass?

Massachusetts. Although in asking that question you inadvertently answered his because anyone from Massachusetts would know what Mass is.

yeah I only ask because you used the word "wicked" as a substitute for "very" or "extremely"

i haven't heard it much outside of my neck of the woods

Re: Shakuras not fit for protoss from auir?

I don't think many protoss planned on being on Shakuras for very long. They probably thought they would just regroup and go right back to Aiur. Kerrigan kind of complicated things from there. The planet may very well drive some to madness, but I imagine it would take a protoss longer than a terran to go bonkers (given the whole race connection and long lives thing)
