Another female Protoss...probably they are trying to make the Protoss females like Night Elf females....um i don;t think i should be saying more but that's what i would probably think... :S

If the lore allowed it, I'd be ok to see single-sexed Protoss. They perfected their abilities and created offspring in laboratories, didn't need their genitals and they slowly disappeared.

That was a load of BS but it's a little weird hearing a female Protoss like the Mothership. It's like listening to a bedtime story on tape.

ah, finally.
My observations on the image: The position of the twin appendages reminds me of the Twi'lek women of Star Wars. The body tone is similar to that of a NE *already mentioned*, very very nice methinks. However, I do hope Blizzard will add a playable Protoss female unit and/or hero for SC2. The only ones I know in-game is Raszagal from BW and the voice-over from the Mothership unit, Its possible that this Selendis character *again, as already mentioned* is the voice behind this unit. Well I can't wait to see what the final outcome of all this will be! ^.^

Its quite possible that its also due to the artistic style the artist has chosen. I'm guessing the person who did this: http://starcraft2.com/art.xml?s=16 was also the same one who did Selendis. There are many different artworks that portray the Protoss very differently. Theres the scaly-skinned one, another with a smoother texture like the ones here, yet light in complexity, and so forth.

hehe, from what I read in a SC Novel entitled 'Shadows of the Xel'Naga' by Gabriel Mesta. There was a protoss character (of DT origin) named, Xerana who had the ability to temporarily disrupt the psionic link of the Khala. In essence, she could psychically isolate communications of other Protoss from each other and disable the mechanics of a Dragoon unit. The extent of her ability could even be fatal to her victims. I just think such an ablility has to be included!
