it is a female protoss and it is arleady said in blizzcon she is selendis new female executor of the protoss most of the artwork had the artist sign on the lower corner dont mistake that for a artist by far i know blizzard doesnt had a artist call selendis

 

No it doesn't. That's her name. Will she be a playable character?

 

i think we be able to control her during the campigan same as james raynor

 

I can't wait to see what abilities she will get.

 

Although one thing I want to add is that she has a scepter looking weapon. Or some weapon thats turned off. So I'm thinking that shes a caster type hero unit. All her skills depend on blizzard if they want to be unique with her skills, so i hope they give her new skills.

 

Maybe she will act as a high templar hero.

 

I believe she is a Dark Templar as for a few reasons.

1. The "scepter" she holds is not a scepter, but the handle of the dual sided scythe that Dark Templar wield and is just not psionicly activated at the moment. At least thats what it appears to be.

2. Her skin tone is that of Zeratul and the Dark Templar of Shakuras and thus gives her at least Dark Templar heritage.

3. It would make sense storyline wise as the Dark Templar and Templar of Aiur are becoming a more unified race altogether and thus a Dark Templar as a Executor would bring more unity to them. Seeing as Prelate would be the Dark Templar equivalent.

Added 4. Since when has a High Templar used a scepter? This is not Warcraft in space!

It's just my belief, but it makes sense. >

 

A Protoss Female?
Maybe she will be a fighter like Medics or Valkerys in Starcraft Broodwar, I think she can be a Hero, our a Dark Templar, she looks powerful

 

She is the Executor under Artanis ( he sure jumped ranks rather fast didn't he)

 

Well... everyone around Artanis that we knew of died so now Artanis is the head honcho. Also on Selendis just compare her skin tone to Zeratul's its a very close match.

 

Ever think that the Protoss might be like people with different skintones based on region of origin. Just because they are dark doesn't mean they are dark templar.

 

I feel stupid.. New Observation on Selendis. She is not Dark Templar. Proof. She has not cut off her psionic appendages. Well... now I have no clue what she is. Meh.

 

Selendis look, like a female Protoss hero like a High Templar bec she has no weapon, Stag i think its not a weapon. May be like the High Templars she is using psch. Powers, in short Female High Templar, may be she is the subtitute to Tassadar is it what do you think guys ?

We don't know if ALL DT cut their appendages or if it was an old ritual that stopped. For all we know the original DT cut off their appendages but their offspring did not. Doesn't really matter anyway since they are now a unified race anyway.

Also I hear that Artanis ( who was missing hi appendages) was a Templar not a dark Templar. That would explain how he got the position of Praetor and why he idolizes Tassadar. I don't think we can go just off of those to make a determination

Also while the two on the sides are long the ones hangin off the back only go half as far as we have seen. They could be cut (but then that might also be a gender based trait)

To save a good amount of argument here I will say this. I have no freaking clue if Selendis is Dark Templar or Templar. All I know is that this picture shows a Protoss Being holding a scythe with 1 side activated. Selendis may be that Protoss Warrior. Just guessing. Beyond that I really could care less if Selendis is Dark Templar or Templar she will be an equal bad ass on either side.

 

hmm... did anyone think that just the women dont keep the appendages? this is pretty cool though.

 

Yeah I mentioned that female apendagges might be shorter. Of course it could just as easily be that Selendis cut hers but not as far up as other DTs do.
