Yeah, I saw it lol. It reminded me of a trucker (With the hat and everything), either that or a hick. I liked the old portrate beter... Hate that new look they gave to the buildings portrate. He looks like the science vessel mix with building guy. He looks like was starved and you can see all his bones.
It makes me think of the dude in the opening cinimatic....The guy in the scrap collector who gets pwned by the 'toss.
The improved look is awsome and I can't wait to see the new click reactions these guys have! Hopefully they'll be able to defend themselves better this time around, if I was out there working I would always carry a gun for extra protection.
the portrait for the new scv looks like someone photoshopped a redneck, put him in the portrait, and added some internals of the scv to make it look like he's an scv... i really want the other portrait back where it accually looked like the dude was an scv, not at a BBQ.
Sir Wezlo, welcome to the Forums....Nice font BTW I agree with you completely. I rather like the new look, it's pretty freaking awesome. However, if SCVs were stronger, then it'd be as Red said.....They were already better than a Marine (Technically), and if you gave them a ranged attack (The gun you mentioned), well, then there'd be now point to Marines.
Has anyone else read the Shadow of the Xel'Naga, the really nerdy SC book? I remember the SCVs that they used at the colony have treads, and them talking extensively about running over Zerglings in the treads. Since when do they have "legs"? Oh well, perfectly fine for Blizzard to change their mind.
I like the new SCV design it looks like the loaders in Aliens, and the new portrait is better than the old one it fits the terran theme better. The first and last time anyone will hear a rock raiders reference
its funny how they make the only black guys in starcraft the workers with the exceptiopn of the few marines that are black. The Confederacy comes back with the same goals it had hundreds of years ago
If the Super scv is created from 6 scv´s, I got an even better idea. By merging 6 SUPER scv´s you get the super XXL-scv. It has unlimited speed, so the moment you command it to go somewhere, it just jumps to that location. And its so big that if it encounters an enemy mothership it grabs it, and throws it away like a frisbee. And any enemy unit attacking the super XXL-scv is automaticly destroyed without any good explanacion. Oh and by the way, the super XXL-scv does 7514 damage and looks like Chuck Norris.
Does it spin in a perpetual round-house kick? That'd be pretty awesome, and the perfect weapon against the Chinese!!! Anyway, this is beginning to sound a bit too much like those old Coke vs. Pepsi UMS games on SC. You combine units for a super unit, and then combine the super unit for another super unit, which then becomes the mega behemoth.... MUA HA HA HA!!!
then it wouldnt be worth it. ...unleeeessss.... it does 7514 damage as i stated earlier. reveals the entire map when constructed/merged does 50 extra damage against zerglings have splash damage that covers an entire map whatever the size of the map. is a detector, thus revealing everything invisible once up and running. has 1 hp and 9999999 armor wins you the game when you trippleclick on it
if it has 1 hp, and that much armor, it would be 1 hit by anything. armor doesnt reduce damage past 1.
actually it does!(from what i know, while i was playing with custom made units in the editor) i made rines do 1 damage and some unit have 1 armor, wich resulted in... first shot: nothing happens second shot: target looses 1 hp thats what happened me anyways. and even if that wouldnt be true, it would be part of the madness of the super XXL SCV
<Hoping the folks at Blizzard read this, or enough ppl agree with me> I think they should add an "auto-repair" function to the SCV's which would work like how medics auto heal wounded units in BW; but can be toggled on or off to avoid mass confusion. I'm not a big WC3 fan but I seem to remember that if you right-clicked a heal icon on those healing pools for the night-elves, the pools would auto heal nearby units. Similarly, if you could right-click the repair icon on an SCV, it would toggle auto repair on/off thus lengthening the life of mech units and structures, and less micro on the user's part. (ignore this if its already a feature, as i haven't been reading enuf on terrs) feedback is appreciated
