Footage shows that the SCV enter the building just like orkish peons in WC3. This may prevent multi scv building but it also prevents easy interuption of the construction process.
The reason why it worked in War3 yet should not be in SC2, is because the two games fundamentally play out very differently. In War3, even if you rush very early, you can't really end the game right then and there. Early rushes in War3 only served to provide an advantage over the opposition later on in the game. In StarCraft however, rushes are very real ways of ending games. If rushes are already so effective and potent, imagine what will happen to balance when you give one race to the advantage over the other two to rush even faster. Anything can be balanced and anything can be doable, but not everything can be done while keeping a game playing like it does. IMO, in order to balance Terran speed building, there would need to be some major changes to how SC plays.
So i didnt want to read through 13 pages of god knows what, but my 2 questions: 1. Can the SCV auto repair currently? Is it the same way workers did that in War3? My stance on this issue is that they should do that, its very annoying, too annoying actually to have to spread out your flyers just ot repair them, it was a great nuicence imo, and they should keep it that way if it is like that. 2. SCV's are not moving around when building? So other players cant kill em while they are building ? Did not know that if its true.
1. At Blizzcon SCVs had auto-repair, but in a Q&A they said only the medic had an autocast, which might mean SCVs don't have auto-repair. 2. In the the first game SCVs could be killed while building, so I'd imagine it'd be the same in SC2.
Well, SCVs can't repair air anymore anyway, so don't worry about spreading your units out for your SCV.
they cant repair air units??? I want proof of that, its really stange news to me...very uncalled for imo.
Actually if they could repair air, why not make them a flying unit? No there is the nomad "the cousin" of the SCV. I think it will handle the air repairing operations
I would actually prefer repair to be on nomads since they are faster and have better armor and more hitpoints and thus can actually survive combat
SCVs, as far as we know, do repair air. SCVs, as far as we know, do NOT have autorepair. SCVs, as far as we know, do NOT move around when building, so they will be easier to kill.
