The Watcher has a point. If they are biologically capable of turning their bodies into explosive sacs, then adding wings shouldn't be too difficult. But as already pointed out, it wouldn't work in game. Personally I don't even like the idea of banelings, it seems a weird evolution for a zergling. It should be a unit in it's own right, made at hatcheries. That or shouldn't exist. That's what infested terrans are for. I thought the zerg were only meant to be able to produce suicidal units by manipulating other species, hence their reliance on terran bodies for the transformation. (Banelings :bad: ) (Zergling :good: )

the baneling idea is not a pretty conceptual wise, but game play wise it has huge potential. ensnare + baneling anyone? or trap of death.

Remember, scourges are suicidal. If Banelings took some genetic stuff from scourges, they could very well be explosive. And also notice that Kerrigan knows Infested Terrans are good (Brood WarZerg mission) where she looks for command centres to infest. She may have took the genes for making the explosive chemicals and then put it into baneling DNA. Because she knows command centres now have turrets on top of them sometimes.
