On Exmortis when you go into the tunnel and you have to solve that puzzle with the symbols. I can't figure it out. Can someone help me?

Definitely Dead Space for me. I like it more than more pure survival horror games because of its immersion and more reliance on monsters than ambience.

The whole experiment gone wrong thing just didn't do it for me. Then all that was left were the cutting tools. Not really scary, just disgusting at times. And the classic boss battles with the giant, glowing, "shoot me here you stupid idiot" patches really ruined it. I was expecting limb cutting on an enormous scale. All that happened was it dying because it had no glowing orbs left.

    Lame.

Play it with surround sound, 5.1 if you got it.

The ambiance in that game is what made it for me....The whole *SkitterskitterskitterSKREEEE* this is omfg.

And I'm not one to omfg on a daily basis.

Na, Dead Space isn't that scary. I only jumped with fright four times. I do own it however. The scary moments were (not in order of terror):
    1) In an elevator, an Enhanced Slasher jumping down OUT OF NOWHERE and tearing me in half. WIthout a sound.
    2) The slasher's cousin, the Necromorph marine thats Stasis capabilities going haywire, scaring me.
And some other ones for later...

But, Condemned 2. The demo alone made my leg so sore and stiff I limped for an entire day. One shock.

No wait, scrap that all. Scrap that all. I'm like 3 minutes into Exmortis. Then... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Shock! When I get into the hallway, there's a HALLUCINATION! Terror! AND I HAVE THE LIGHTS ON! AND I CAN SEE MY NEIGHBOURS LIGHTS! AND ITS ONLY 10PM!

I liked the very last moment of Dead space when you just finished the Mother Mind and you have to escape the planet before the huge meteor hits it. You could already see the meteor in the background when you were fighting against the monster.
Once done Isaac was running to the vessel. i liked how we could hear his strong breath when he was running. He was like desperate ! I liked the moment when he tried to open the door to the cockpit and this one was closed. He hit the door of desperance ! Finally he opened it and escaped at the right moment when the meteor hit the planet and destroyed it.

Resident Evil 4 scared the crap out of me a few times. Some of the Silent Hill games were really creepy too. Also The Suffering was scary too.
