Never said it was very bloody, but it was enough to have it rated Teen for violence. The only thing that was really bloody in SC was the zerg blowing up into blood balls then killed.

Edit: how does a labtop change things? I haven't played the game very long and only have a 1:2 record on b-net. My micro is still struggling, but playing on b-net is nhelping me improve that since I have to keep up with my allies on the battle field. Maybe you think I'm really good at it because it has a touchpad mouse? However, I still use a regular mouse attached to it since the touch pads are hard to use when playing SC.

I do have a touch pad, but I'm not used to using it yet. I could try solely using the touch pad, but that would take some getting used to. Since playing on b-net, my playing skill has improved by me building faster and mre compact, so my skills are improving, but I still rate myself below average.

lol, my skills need work, I was playing terran ealier today and almost got wiped out by a DT drop because I forgot to build a comsat on my command center. Luckily I was able to build a few turrets and allowed my army to fight his DT off after losing about 10 supply depots and a lot of SCV's. Out team still won in the end after my allies fought back as I rebuilt quickly because of the reserves of min and gas I still had.

Well I did send my remaining SCV's down to the southern part of my town where I had a few tanks golioths, and turrets. And I sent one SCV to the northern part of the base to build a turret close by, but out of site. Afterwards, my tanks were able to destroy the remaining DT before my entire base was destroyed. Unforutnately, my command center was lost, so it took my a few minutes to rebuild, and get my economy back.

Edit: conversations are fun aren't they?

While I agree that having a way to adjust graphics for lower end PCs is nice I think that tht should be a slider separate. Blood and guts spilling out has nothing to do with huge explosions and is less taxing since it could be part of the basic animation and noot connected to the physics unless you want to go holywood blood spurts (it doesn't actually spray).

However, it would help older computers if you could get rid of the graphics that gore and blood would take up. It may not help too much, but the option does make it seem like it would allow a lower gen. of computers to be able to play the game.

No No I said that if the gore were part of the animation it would not take up any resources because the unit will have an animation either way. Only difference is the animation is more gruesome.

Just something to think about. My K6 machine can handle ANY game that lacks a physics engine. Physics calculations are what take up most processor power but gore dos not require any physics (unless you want realistic decapitations/amputations)

it a damn war game!!!!!!!!!!!!! the only purpose of this game is to kill, thats it, simply build your army and go kill the other guy, how can they expect not to have blood etc, thats just trying to make your son stupid, or yourself, how about you teach them that yes, if you shoot someone they will bleed, and thats not funny, but this is a game, damn, but whatever, i will use the ultra high gore settings anyway

They will put this in if only to easyly change settings (and hide the switch) for non-american versions. Germany for example has set the bar quite highly on blood compared to america. You have to draw the line somewhere, the korean version is rumored to get black blood. Yes we all agree it is silly.

I like the gore setting because it would allow a larger fan base to exist. Younger kids would be able to play it with gore turned off so they don't freak out thier parents, and older people can play with it turned on for violence and all that gory goodness.

Yes this is a good idea and there is a possibility for blizz to lower the age rating for the SC2 but if the young aged kids put the high violence is quite bad for them in front of their parents but as long as they are allowed to do that ;D

I see your point, maybe Blizzard could make it so in order to switch from low to high gore settings, it would require a password. Thus the parents could create some random word so they can keep thier kids from watching the violence.

This is just an idea, I have no idea how effective this would actually be in real life.

A slider to adjust gore would be enough. I don't think we need a password-protected kind of thing for this. For one, if I was a parent, I probably wouldn't know how to adjust that stuff, and I wouldn't expect my kids to tell me how. And two, it's a game. Games are just like any other form of art, people shouldn't be forcibly banned from viewing it.

Yeah, well, art is something nice and beautiful until the money-hungry corporate guys come and mess everything up. God bless capitalism! :p

I hope if they'll put a gore option. But if it makes my cop lag, I'll just have to disable it and miss the red stains. :(

Lol, the gore option would allow older computers to play without lagging out of matches. I see it as a move to get younger kids to play the game to increase the target audience.

Someone should make a poll titled " What gore setting will you use?"

The choices can range from " are those kittens hugging each other?" to " HYPER GORE!!!"
