I expect report 3 will be zerg-protoss, and we'll see tier 3 of both, with emphasis on air combat, plus the new dark pylon thing.

Erm... do we know, is the mothership buildable in melee games? Cuz I'd be interested to see how that performs in melee games.

  2. You don't stay up on your information, do you?

Yes, of course, the Mothership is buildable in melee. But, that's only because it's only a shadow of what it was in the announcement video.

Alright. Thanks for the info ;)

And you're right that I only follow the info a little :)

I didn't actually like what I saw of the banelings. I find them strange units to have on the battlefield. They don't work for me at all. I've always thought of them suited to siege damage vs buildings, not mobile mines.

I still think the marauder is too powerful.

They should modify the aspect of the Spine Crowler and change the portrait of the destructible rocks too

It's a bit different for every router but the idea is the same. Best way to find out how it works on your router would be to go to http://portforward.com/ and find your model's guide.

According to the Blizzard support site...

"The Blizzard Downloader requires that TCP port 3724 to be open. For slow download speed issues, you may want to ensure that TCP ports 6881 through 6999 are opened."

This also includes any software firewalls you have.

It makes a lot of sense to have an easy to see visual queue so that the other players can tell that the marines are going to have more hp. Adding ballistic shields is a logical choice and they are easily recognizable as something taken from the real world. I'd say it looks sillier for them to be firing their rifles one handed than it does for them to be using ballistic shields, but it's easy enough to assume the power armor gives them some help with shooting one handed.

They're called banelings, they mutate from zerglings much like lurkers do from hydralisks, and they cost an additional 50 minerals on top of the cost of the zergling. Clearly they do a lot of damage, but they only have 35hp even though they cost three times as much as a zergling.

necro, I understand the HP will increase with the shield, but do you think you can kill a zerg with a gun? we need a machine gun, we need a powerfull weapon for the war.

I think it's okay to put extra shield for the marine. But how did they hold weapon with both hand? even counter strike use pistol when they use the shield. I think it strap at the elbow :)

Glad to see that Queen have attack mode. : )

  12. If they're overpowered then mines and scourges were overpowered as well in Brood War ... which they weren't.

Also, are you seriously trying to say that Zerg should not be able to be killed by "guns"?

I think he meant that pistols can't kill zerg but heavy machine guns can. Also someone did reply back though saying that they still fight with their machine guns, While they don't gave a shield they use both hands, but when they get the shield they only use one hand to shoot.

I agree that it makes sense and all, but I kind of wish that with this being Starcraft they would have had something a bit more advanced. Something along the lines of an energy shield upgrade to their armor. But then it would be just like the protoss I guess, so it makes sense. Keeps things diverse.

    Loved the battle report tho.

Finally they are listening to me the banelings no longer roll as seen in this video.

Terran seem to be the best out of the 3 races atm

zerg in my mind seem to cost too much.

Hunter seeker missiles for the night hawks seem a bit overpowered because of the damage range and combination of the reapers mine ability.

marauders seem to be really strong and stalker (which should be better or at least the same dps) and roaches need to be balanced accordingly to match the dps ability the others produce possible costing a little bit less and haveing a faster attack rate if they only have 3 range.

    epic fight.

Wish we could have seen more late tier units. Infestors didn't do much and it would have been nice to see the different abilities for the infestor and queen in combat, but you can have everything. I could see how the spawn larva was really useful for the zerg, hence how he was able to produce so many units at once every fight.

Nighthawks are powerful with thier hunter seekers. The banshees didn't do much except stop the expansion from finishing. It would have been nice to see some tanks though.

I rally thought the zerg would win. I think what did it was his inability to get his third expo up, so he wasnt able to gather enough res for both units and upgrades.

Jeez, this was tense, even for someone like me. I was almost annoyed that I knew how much time remained, just because I expected the Zerg player to win so much sooner. Amazing fight by the Terran player, and there were some tactics from both sides that I wouldn't've ever have though of. Awesome. I seriously dunno how on Earth he managed to pull that off.

I did notice a couple of things though. Keep in mind I watched it in low quality, so didn't see everything as clearly as you guys might have.

Firstly, have they seriously changed the Banshee pilot to a bloke? Seems really odd if they have.

Secondly, the design for the Xel'Naga watchtower changed. I dunno if it's due to being a different tileset or if they'll have multiple designs for them, but worth pointing out.

Thirdly, don't ask why, but I really do seem to love the idea of spawning Infested Marines. I'm not such a fan of the eggs simply being lobbed, but their movement animation definitely needs to be changed. Seriously, they look like tin soldiers.

Marauders seem to fire with both their arms now, which is awesome, though the synchronisation of the animation and projectile were a bit off at times.

The Hunter Seeker missiles seemed like a very successful ability, and although I don't reckon they're overpowered at all, I seem to have trouble picturing them in the final build.

As for the Baneling's animation, it's infinitely better than the rolling, although I still think there's room for improvement. Yes, that's right, I still have a problem with the Baneling's animation. Haha, nah, not really, but I definitely do think they can improve on it.

Lastly, after watching both Battle Reports, I've noticed some patterns and have already speculated some neat tactics. Right at the very start of the game, in order to win, you've got to gain the lower hand.
