ok how about this, a completely new zerg base defense...there. even if they are SLIGHTLY similar to the sunken...well it doesn't matter at least they are NEW. new name, new animation, new feel, new look, new mechanics including the ability to move > 10 year old sunken in 3d but now with the ability to move.

Its and awesome change. I liked the srieker/clutch combo, but this change keeps the old school sunken supporters satisfied while also pleasing Queen supporters. I never understood why zerg building couldnt move, thats the essence of creep. Liquid, slimy living substance which evolves and moves.

When it moves it shouldnt be able to attack, move only over creep (or atleast not being able to do anything while not on creep) and of course be a little slower than normal units. I dont think they need some imba nerfs just beacause they can regroup.

All hail to moving armies of sunken with the new overlord/seer creep vomiting abiltiy :)

I dont see the reason for them to be able to move off the creep, cause then they probaly couldnt be put down again if they were off the creep xD, and they are extremely weak when you are moving them (correct me if im wrong) xD,.

I have mixed feelings about sunkens and spores coming back. When I first read up on Swarm Clutches, I was 100% against it. I didn't like the dependance on the Queen, even though it's cheaper, and the fact that Swarm Clutches were GtG/GtA mean't no more wtfgiant damage that the Sunken had. However, after seeing one of the Korean ZvP gameplay videos, I took a liking to the Swarm Clutch. It was a 1x1 structure, so you could build them en masse, which fits the Zerg style nicely. Their damage seemed low (I'm guessing single digits per shot) but they had impressive range, and I don't believe that the Zerg player built any Shriekers during gameplay, which means Swarm Clutches could have absurdly long range. I'm not so sure about Sunkens and Spores now. how does a building deeply rooted in he ground uproot and crawl around? I hope the structures are small, something like 2x2.

blizzard is taking one step forward and two back, why would thye take away the phasse movement, and bringback the spores and sunkens?
what will become of the queen
i also do not like the moving spores and sunkens, as the zerg should have some sort of immobile defence

Same as before, it will construct all Zerg defenses.

    Why?
Also if you want an immobile defense, use a Lurker

She stays the same. Instead of building swarm clutches and scretchers, she now builds the spores and sunkerns.

do swarm clutches and scretcher still exist in the game, or have they been replaced with sunkens and spore colonies?

They have been replaced by the Sunken and Spore. They will be in the editor though.

I definitely like the idea of mobile cannons, although still having the Queen build them is kind of lame. If you wanted to use them offensively, you'd have to build them at home and then ship them off with escorts to the front or you'd have to send your valuable Queen the front to construct them. -shrugs- I don't know which I like more. The ability to change the phase cannons... I say good riddance. Protoss already have the most powerful stuff. I don't think they really need mobile stationaries. Ha. Contradictory. Oh, well.

i don't see a problem with the queen building the defenses. Not only does it save your drone for more important stuff, but because the ability will probably be a tier 2 upgrade then your queen should be strong to only require a small escort. Also with any defense rush you always need a least a small group of units until your buildings are made.

i like the idea that your queen builds defensive buildings more than drones but i think that you should have the ability to build more queens. of course this would be hard to balance but i dont like the idea of one hardcore defensive unit (and i realize that its not a superunit)
the sunkens were great to use and i am very glad that they are coming back.. now the argument is on how theyre built

Queen builds them. Her role as defender/supporter is eased by the fact the Sunkuns can move meaning you don't need as many to cover your base since you can respond by moving them to the problem area.
