"The latest builds have brought back Sunken and Spore Colonies, with a new twist. Sunken and Spore Colonies can now [...] "

It doesn't sound like an equivalent to me, more like regular Colonies that can uproot. You might be right about the downsize, but I don't see where you got that from.

What I meant is they probably won't return with the high damage Sunkun's like Sc1 as people might think. That would just be OP wouldn't it.
In my mind I just imagined Sunkun colonies with legs and stuff :D

PhaseCannons had the same damage while still having the Phase ability, so Sunkens may very well have the same damage as in SC1.

One thing I think is weird though. It is supposed to get less hp when uprooted. How will that work? With the Phase Cannon, they just removed the regular hp and kept the shield, but the Sunken only has hp. Does this mean that a newly rooted Sunken has less hp and has to slowly regenerate it to the maximum hp allowed in the rooted form? Why not reduce their armor to 0 instead, or make them a little slower than phased out Phase Cannons?

Well, when you're rooted in the ground you can take more impact since the energy is sent thru the structure then ground which absorbs the potential energy.
I can imagine the new sunkuns will be kinda slow which is acceptable. And something which is slow and can't attack you in its current location is vulnrable enough to balance the fact this structure can move.

Do we even have to call this a defensive building. It is unique to the Zerg as it is produced by a Queen so they don't even need to be compared to other static defenses.

    I see it this way.
Strong/high attack damage or become mobile for the tactical advantage risking easy destruction.

Easy, just take the percentage instead of the numbers. It's how damaged creep colonies mutate into sunkens now. It will look weird though with the instant 'healing' when they root back.

I thought about percentages, but that's simply not starcraft. :D
It's just weird. An uprooted Sunken would basically heal faster than a rooted one.

    Damaged Sunken:

    200/400 hp. >uproots> 100/200 hp.

Now it would only have to heal 100 hp. It doesn't make sense as the regular Sunken should gain more healing nutrition since it is deeply rooted in the nutricious creep.

Well they wouldn't heal when they are uprooted, obviously.

That makes sense. :D Still don't like percentages in starcraft, but I guess this one would work.

Ohh nice. Since they are technically structures, which require sustanance from the creep, they can't regen when uprooted :D

Can they walk anywhere? Or are they only allowed to walk on the creep?

My guess would be anywhere. But of course they can only function on creep.

It should either lose regeneration when out of creep or altogether when it's uprooted

That dosnt count for much if it isnt damaged

The phase cannon lost all of its HP when it phased effectiveley losing half its health

sunken and spore colony. since they can now move and we are in starcraft 2 why not just give it a completely different name and look..... to make it feel and look NEW.

Because the whole point of sunken colony is that it's sunken colony and not something else.

but it could be the same thing but with a different name and look just to avoid making the game feel like sc1.5 or worst sc1 in 3d.
