Rename the phoenix?

Well they are nostalgic like us after all.

I didn't mean to say phoneix doesn't fit what the unit does. It's just strange that its sounds exactly like Fenix and is not a direct tie in. Fenix was of course reborn from the ashes into a dragoon, makes sense. Should blizz use the same motif twice, for the same race no less?

 

Just quickly, why is it such a problem that Fenix's name is used in the military? There are a fair few names in English, like Delta and Charlie, that are commonly used in our military, so why is it such a big issue? It all makes sense and definitely not unheard of. At least the spelling of Fenix is different to Phoenix which is one step more than the Delta and Charlie of our language.

 

Fenix=blizzard character name
Phoenix= mythological fire bird

 

Simple as that.

Also isn't it pronounced: fEn-icks not fEEn-iks
and Phoenix is pronounced: PhE-niks or phoe-nex

 

right on... btw whats d phoenixs main weapon?? is it anti matter missiles??

 

the only thing that bothers me is the fact the SC 2 seems to be ripping odd a lot on how things look. Like from Star wars, i've seen. and the more annoying but completely understandable thing is WoW. Some of the things there look a hulluva lot like units upcoming. Not that i mind, because of course there are only so many things they can think up without random people throwing things out, but is originality too hard to ask?

I hadn't reflected upon it, but subjective, I wouldn't mind either way, if they decided to keep the name or change it.
Though, it would be odd to alter it due to this reason alone.

 

I think it is some what a play on words because fenix was killed and a phoenix is brought back to life. So by naming the ship a phoenix they are bring fenix back to life. do you follow?
