Here is the real question about reapers... Why the hell are they created in fours? Why not create them like any other unit and come out one at a time? Can anyone explain the logic to me?
hmmm maybe its the fact that you can hire them instead of training them? because a mercenary is just like a hired soldier that isn't necessarily part of either side. since you get them at the merc haven, I guess it could be that you walk into the bar and you find 4 reapers at the bar and offer all 4 of them money to fight...and they all agree? lol oh the imagery
They arent really infantry, they are more of specialists really. Also, @ Nikzad's last post: yeah, them being merc's could be a point of bias in their use lol.
the worst thing about reapers is their weapon, which is game-mechanic-wise the same weapon used by the marine and the viking ground form. 3 units using the same type of weapon is too much, they all do normal-ranged-non-splash damage. no diversity at all
Im fine about the type of damage because each of those units themselves have a diferent purpose, however the attack animation really bugs me for the reapers, it looks WAAAAY to light to deal damage to ANYTHING.
I like the idea of a bar and mercs within the terran troops. Vultures were the misbehaving boys of SC1, and now that they're gone, we need someone to take the role. @ their dmg appearance: if it was shown as exploding shells when they hit their targets, I bet beeing pistols wouldn't be a problem.
I can picture building 3 Merc Haven's and popping out a dozen reapers in a second. Late game I'd have like, what, 5 of them? Awsome idea.

You can get a dozen Reapers in... a few seconds. The thing is, a dozen Reapers isn't really as scary as it sounds, as Reapers are incredibly weak units.
yeah, especially if the enemy has enough forces to be attacking your base seriously enough that you need to create them that fast

What's the build speed exactly, does anyone know? Because I have a good idea if it's quick enough... I hear it's 1-2 seconds.
It is none? I thought that was what it said on the official website. And they are or aren't they supposed to be built from the barracks?
