This new briefing system is awesome, i cant imagine how its going to be for protoss and zerg, and what characters will be controllable, because..you cant walk with a cerebrate lol

Welcome, I think you will just see everything instead of just seeing your character walk to who you want to talk to.

I wonder whom Kerrigan will interact with. Any interaction with her swarm mates will be like interacting with herself since she controls them, and they are pretty much an extension of her will. Cerebrates would be nice, but I think they should have another look. In fact, I think the cerebrates should have a human-like form with features you can recognize as Zerg, like Kerrigan. When faced with battle, they can transform from their humanoid form into various terrifying aspects more suited for combat. Just my view of what Kerrigan might have in store for her very own version of a cerebrate.

I bet Jim will be torn between selling the artifact and getting the equipment he needs, or to secure the artifact to prevent it from falling into the hands of Duran and his puppets. I wonder if the player will be able to make choices that could affect the outcome of the story . . . that would be mad cool.

They already said the beginning and end are set with the middle being up to you. So the end will not be affected just how you get there.

His homeworld was infested by the zerg and then sterilized by the protoss
Most of his close friends (tassadar, kerrigan, fenix) are dead/infested
He's a fugitive/freedom fighter trying to take down the people he helped get in power

4 years. Some of the new BlizzCon interviews said 4.

I personally think it is fantabulous! The idea of selecting which units and building to buy (within sense of course) makes me feel that Blizzard is really trying to stir up the RTS pot just as much now as they did back with the original Starcraft. That option allows the player to fit the campaigns to his/her playing style, something i appreciate very much.

As for the redoing of the briefing room, it has promise but I'm still a bit wary. I really enjoyed the crispness and suddenness of the dialogue during certain parts of the game, like when Jim Raynor lashes out at Arcturus Mengsk for leaving Kerrigan behind. Or, when Aldaris and Tassadar argue in their briefing room :p

At any rate, I'm loving the new info, and this just made my jaw drop.

Hmm I was a bit skeptical about the whole "purchasable units/upgrades" concept prior to viewing the footage, but I think it will be alright. I feel, that there should be the option to play the single player campaigns as "bare bones" in that you get the "default" treatment. Basically, by choosing the default story mode or whatever, the computer chooses which units/upgrades are to be chosen based on mission recommendations, whilst you progress through each mission using the normal story path as opposed to choosing where you want to go next.

When this mode is chosen, there should also be the opportunity at anytime to be able to go to the "free mode" (providing that there's a warning that will state that you won't be able to revert back to the standard default story mode, if you choose to take command).

With these 2 options, you can choose to play the game the way it was original designed, or as a custom like campaign, based on the story of SC2. (likewise, the default mode could easily be for the slackers out there who don't want to do much during the briefings and go straight to the missions) :)

but its being originally designed to be played this way, if you dont care about the story then you can just go straight to galactic map and choose the next closest planet lol.

I suppose, but it's not just the story, it's also choosing which upgrades/units you want next. There aught to be a default there as an option.

The Campaign preview that Rob Pardo demonstrated at BlizzCon was so funny, especially when he attacked the Protoss but failed and after which he typed "Cheat" two times, battlecruisers and thors came out of nowhere. ROFL, Rob Pardo is an entertainer. Regarding the Campaign style, two thumbs up, it owns man! ^^

Very pleased. Raynor is back (yay ^_^) and you'll be against, not as, the dominion (double yay ^_^). I love the new interactive style and dialog trees. I love the setting, story, etc. of starcraft (always liked sci-fi better) and I am eager to get a more close up and detailed look at it.

As for Matt he's no spy. He just takes his job (and the rebellion) seriously so he probably got that uniform first chance he could.

Thanks for noticing the icon, and yes, Zep is amazing.

Hopefully most people will enjoy the new briefing system. I could see alot of impatient people skipping it because they 'just want to get on with it'.
I think it is a very original idea that will be used in a bunch of knockoff RTSs. It will set a new standard. ...Hopefully
