Hey I had a thought

There are arows that allow you to hide and unhide sections hen in the forum index. Since this is Starcraft themed forum why not replace those with the cloak/decloak icons

 

Neat, the forum is shaping up nicely, great work sc2forums!

Now if only I could tell which of all these icons mean new posts... Hope you'll change them soon, but don't skip your sleep over it 'kay?

It needs to be 13x13px and would people really know what it is and does? I thought the one right now is pretty stylish and clear. If you do a 13x13px one, with both open and closed status, and can get a poll going that shows more than 50% of people would like your icon, I'll replace it with that design. Otherwise, it's going to stay this way ;P

the only downer to the black layout is that you can still see the withe outlines of the icons

At the top of the section bar to the right

 

You can make boards and panels disappear.

The cloak icon sounds nice but 13 px won't be enough, although even if it gets distorted, starcraft fans should be able to recognise it

ps the icons (Y! messenger, or the status indicator) which were optimised for light backgrounds now look hideous.

 

I see what you're talking about. And yeah, we should get rid of those icons.
