Both phantomFF and I have beaten it - so it is possible (albeit, it is very difficult). Try to:

    A) Make sure your defenses are set up and reinforced early.
    B) Defeat the Brown (Insane AI) early - you can do this by building up a force of Zealots and Dragoons during the beginning stages of the game.

Once those two things are done, it's a matter of expanding and building up your troops while you weather some storms. Not easy, but doable.

I thought these maps were decent. I'm not trying to be mean about it as I'm not EVER willing to put this much time into maps again.

A long time ago I did a few series of campaign maps having to do solely with the Zerg (big suprise).

I guess part of my reaction comes from the fact that I've played SC1 so much that I'm actually kinda disgusted by the game a little bit now. That's why I want SC2 so much.

The campaigns are certainly doable but it took my full ability to do it. That and memorizing the attacks. It took me three tries to get to level 8. And that one's insane.

If you could give a few more starting units it might be possible (for scouting purposes) DT might do fine. Or even observers. As it was I simply couldn't spare the units to find out when I was about to be attacked and was therefore unprepared for large waves.

I know how hard it is to make campaigns like this but I find it preferable to use AI rather than scripted attacks. Your suggestions were consistent with this.

    Overall a good job.

I like the campaign but i must agree its very hard on the last mission and since i'm not exactly the best sc player i got murdered 4 times on the last mission so i got extremely angry at the AI and did show me the money 3 times then massed carriers/bc's/mutas.... They didn't stand a chance....

Now if you don't mind i'm going through it again this time without cheats......

My goal was to make the missions range from easiest to hardest - and Mission 8 is supposed to be ridiculously hard. So I am glad that everyone thinks it is insane haha.

As far as the scripted attacks go, in the end I only kept a couple in there, and they weren't too difficult. Originally I had some monster attacks in Mission 8 (i.e. a Torrasque and seven Ultralisks) but the AI was hard enough so I took them out. The earlier missions have a few scripted attacks, but nothing too hard either.

I just hope that even though Mission 8 makes you want to pull out your hair that my campaigns were enjoyable. Then my goal was truly accomplished - a cool campaign with an extremely difficult ending. Word.

That would definitely be one of the coolest jobs ever. Unfortunately, right now I have plans to go to medical school... haha I am going to have a long few years ahead of me.

Anyway, back on Raynor's Revenge - one of my roommates just beat Mission 8 and reminded me of a sort of glitch in it. The trigger that begins when Raynor is brought to the final battleground begins with a wait when he is present. This is because even when he is still in a Dropship the trigger registers his presence. The wait is there because originally the trigger would fail to complete, and it allows time for Raynor to be unloaded. However, I did not want to make the wait really long, so everybody just make sure when you bring Raynor in a Dropship that you unload him sooner rather than later.
