    @Kaaraa if you powered me up it didn't go thru, but thanks anyway :] And yes I think the Immortals cannons are slimmer but it doesn't look that sexy right now.

    Is it just me or does the perspective seem weird... And I still dislike the position of the shadows.

    Any guesses on what those lines are?
    They seem like wind or speed lines, I don't know.

    Z00t!! best Q&A thus far!

    I love what the have done with tuning down the polish on the terran buildings, also loving the looks of the jackal (with a vehicle with a flamethrower who needs that ol' flamebat anymore :p) and some of the other little changes are nice too like the change of the lasers on the BC. 8)

    Answer to the weird line question: Those lines are almost definitely a smoke trail effect from the Jackals attack, it probably fired in that direction previously at a different Zealot or whatever, and the attack then leaves a faint smoke trail effect in the path of the rail gun blast. Heres to SC2 having non-convoluting secondary special effects!


    EDIT: The new marauder look isn't bad, but it looks alot like the VIking. In fact both the Viking and Marauder look an awful lot like a "combat SCV". Wtf. :eek:

    update from karune:
    1) Currently the High Templar has their original abilities, Hallucination and Psi Storm.
    2) It serves as a prerequisite for Reapers to be built at the Barracks.
    3) This is still subject to balance and is still being decided.


    wheres the anti-gravitation?
    It is a little difficult to see, but the rocks are actually what is being lifted, and the Dark Templars are infiltrating the based from underneath them. The final visuals for the Anti-Gravity ability are not finished, but nonetheless since it was so highly desired by the community I wanted to at least get everyone a work in progress screenshot.

    Karune: battlecruiser seems to have new attack animation(picture B and C), does it now attack multiple targets at a time or has it an aoe damage ?


    That is the Battlecruiser's Air to Ground Plasma attack which does AoE damage(Area of Effect).

    3. In screenshot C, what are those Protoss units at the top right of the shot, behind the Immortals?


    Those are the High Templars. Also, honestly, the Psi Storm in screenshots does not do it justice at all, as it looks much more amazing animated.

    First off, graphics are GREAT colors look a LOT better.

    Screenshot B: Is that the new look of the Firebat next to the CC? In another screenshot he's throwing fire... it looks like he also may be throwing grenades.
    Screenshot C: What's being used on those marines? Some kind of stasis field? Can we accurately assume that's the Jackal as well?
    Screenshot D: Is that line of brightness the Nullifier's normal attack?


    B: That is the new Terran Marauder, equipped with dual concussion grenades which slows down the movement of biological units, as well as does bonus damage to armored vehicles.

    C: There is a Psi Storm being casted on the Marines in the center. On the bottom left near the Siege Tanks are Jackals, with a line area of effect attack, which is visually displayed by the flames.

    D: Yes, that is the Nullifier's base attack, although the final effects are not finished yet.

    I think its just space platform.
    I am very pleased with these screenshots. the Terran are looking great. The Marauder is awesome, I think they will be fun. Those and Reapers, I will have to do some experimenting with those.
    The lighting, too, just blows me away. The more I see the more I love it.
    Streets light in shot D anyone?
    Doodads ftw.

    The terrain in D looks a bit too happy for taste still, but thats really all the critics I have.

    In shot C it looks like the Jackals gun doesn't really aim the direction its shooting.

    COLORS ARE INDEED GREAT BUT ONLY IN SCREENSHOT B
    i dont know if its the light but the rest Look more FADE to White!!!

    new terran metallic texture Fracking PERFECT!
    they greatest color Pallet is in Screenshot B, Prottoss colorfull, terran mud, zerg....zerg? oh yea at 10th :)

    check out Starcraft2.com/features why did they had to creat Sympbols for the races? zerg new background look good, but Zerg do not understant symbols, they do not need symbols they carry not flags!

    Excellent work, nice you hear the community!

    keep up....and GIVE US A HD VIDEO now! :p

    heh, i think it would be cool if not only on the 10th did they show the zerg, but also the new terran units and graphical update and the new protoss units!

    you knows what i think? i think terran looks better in the dirt terrain, space platform terrain and lava terrain.

    the protoss looks good in jungle terrain, space terrain and yeah.

    what terrain will look good with the zerg?

    LOVE the marauder. big mechs for the terran ftw!

    jackal with wheels. hhhmmm, step down, why not make it hover like the vulture? its the future and hover feels more hardcore scifi.

    nullifier looks plain.

    wheres the nomad? i hope you already changed the ugly look of the nomad.

    march 10. zerg gameplay video plus new graphics and new units and stuffs. cant wait. ^^

    I hope they don't change it. I like its current look. It's looks good and is practical.

    I like the nullifier's design. Reminds me of a floating fish. However, if the nullifier is supposed to be a 1.5 tier unit, why do some of you think its from the robotics facility, which is tier 3-ish? Unless its yrch position is being changed, I don't see why it would be in the robotic facility.

    i agree with the wheels jackal looks like NOD bike now, dont like that, i love the upper shape but make it hover.

    Nomad=hmmmm not hot nor cold.....maybe smaller or do something with this space between those legs ...like repairs....

    now here is a QUESTION if allready not answered:

    "how the hell is the Banshee able to fly over space, without atmoshear (space-platform)it hass proppelas, not engine-jets!??"

    i am not liking the anti gravity realism.

    if the gravity was reversed on say a town - buidlings would disingreate. they are built specifically with gravity on their side, as soon as it reveresed they would shatter. There is no way they would land back on the ground in perfect condition lol..

    And marines survive buildings falling on them? i hope thats a bug their going to fix.

    i think anti grav is a good ability, but needs tweaking to be reaalisitic. prehaps make the gravity only effect units? hey i dunno but i think its too unrealistic that a building would sruvive being lifted up and put back down.

    Over all the new shots look really nice, and I really am glad to see something new finally. That said... I know that a screen shot from a real gameisn't very exciting and a lot messier. But at least try to show us something semi real. The shots are so painfully staged (C is by far the worse - how the hell did Terran manage to put down bunkers and a sensor tower so close to the Protoss base).

    Terran
    • Love the new grittier Terran textures.
    • The Marauders are huge!! They look cool, but they are way to big. They need to scale them down, they look really odd next to marines. I'd be okay if they were a bit bigger than a marine, but damn.. in screen shot D (middle left side - near the Seige Tank) there is a Marauder essentially "bear hugging" one of the 4 marines. Looks ridiculous.
    • Love the Jackal, bad ass looking trikes, a worthy replacement for the Vulture, way better than the Cobra. Flames throwers instead of railguns (I'm a bit disapointed). It does explain AoE damage, and allows them to limit how far it can reach.. a railgun would clear the screen and then some, also it would be hard to explain AoE splash damage from a railgun projectile. Wish the turrets turned to match flames though.
    • Love the new location of the Plasma Torpedoes on the BCs. Looks way better than the 4 tubes at the front.

    Protoss
    • Is it just me or do the Protoss buildings not look as shinny as they once did. (screen shot C) It might just be the angle of the light on that map.
    • The new cannons on the Immortals make me sad. I really hope they come back, or are part of some type of range upgrade for the Immortals (like the one the Dragoons originally had).
    • Nullifiers look good to. They could tone down the laser.. to many of those would definitely clutter the screen.
    • Psyonic Storm looks like ass. I really hope Karune is right and that it looks better in action than it does in this still.My biggest gripe about it is that you really can't see through it at all. Just looks like a big static mess.

    Misc.
    • The yellow minerals in screen shot D weren't very obvious. They blend into the light green grass to much.. I thought they were some kind of foliage at frist, then I noticed the SCVs.

    Well those were a real treat! These screen shots really made my Friday. I can't till the next batch of new screen shots we get to tear into.

    I like the Jackel. The wheels are a nice touch, since I'm sick of hover this, thrusters that... Plus the rail gun that looks an aweful lot like a flamethrower, love it though. It's like a light tank with a powerful flamethrower cannon. Sweet.

    I really dislike the marauder. Especially the look. It's too big and mechanical looking. I was under the impression that it was more of a soldier. I would prefer it smaller and with less bulk. Also, I don't much care for the grenade launchers for them.
    Make the marauder the size of a marine, give it a missle launcher, and make it anti-air. Terran need more AA.

    I heard from someone about the banshee being in there: what screenshot and where?
