Well, the Twilight Council is the thing that represents the newfound unity between the Dark and High Templar. They now have separate structures because the Dark Templar are being recognized as their own group now.

The Sensor Tower and Phase Cannon are both examples of defensive structures that are also Detectors. Banshees would focus on destroying the Sensor Tower before the Missile Turrets, so that it is then safe to Cloak. As for the Phase Cannons, it would target the nearby Pylons, thus disabling them. After these key structures have been destroyed, the Banshee would have a definite advantage.
Where did it say that Sensor Towers can Cloak? Also, why are you going on about the Sensor Tower so much? I already said that these are what the Banshee should be worrying about now that their attack has been nerfed.
@ kuvasz. It's true that either two High Templar, two Dark Templar or one of each can form the same outcome, but just because two lions, two tigers or one of each never make the same offspring it doesn't mean the Templar can't.
The Templar fuse themselves together with psychic forces, with the intent of creating an Archon. It doesn't matter if they're High Templar, Dark Templar or anything, they both have extraordinary psychic capabilities and both are focusing on creating the same thing. The Archon.
The reason that this differs from your example of lions, tigers and ligers, is that the High Templar and Dark Templar do not actually mate and have a child together which they raise to be an Archon. The liger is a genetic offspring of the two different breeds of cat, and the Archon is the manifestation of the combined psyche between two different types of Templar.

    EDIT: 900th post.

My bad I was mean't to say can detect cloaks. I said that as was making reference to the Protoss towers which seemed to have detection propeties as they are always at the front of defense lines like the Sensor tower is.

The Sensor Tower is not a front line defense structure. It's usually behind other defenses. Because it has quite a long sight range, you can stick one in the middle of a base and detect everything in it.

Wow people never read my posts properly. In the VIDEOS, the Sensor Towers are usually at the MAIN defense areas just like the Protoss Dark Obelisk things.

One thing I just thought of for a Terran vs a heavily defended choke is that, fly a building, get a Thor to take fire, and get a ghost under the building and nuke. Will there be a way to target units under a building in SC2 (could probably be done by changing angle of view)?

The game's in 3D and the camera was rotated quite a few times before in the announcement video, so it would be possible.

It really sucks that they removed the Banshee's AoE. It was such a cool concept, and looked to have a variety of uses judging from the demo. As for the Jackal...why? we already had marauders, tanks, thors, banshees, and PT battlecruisers. I say scrap the Jackal, and give us one of these instead, possibly with AoE, like a grounded Valkerie.

I wanted that too. But do you want it to be GtG, GtAll, or GtA?

What do you mean when you say GtAII?

Back on topic, I meant to sat GtA, essentially and anti-air missile tank, with AoE attack. Such a unit would definitely be of use against Zerg flyers.

Kaaraa, I really like that idea. I'm picturing a heavily fortified box or dome tank that can only shoot upward in a cone shape. When it attacks, the top opens up showing missile tubes that then lay waste to everything directly above.

Still, I have little faith in the non-AoE banshee. I loved the non-specific bombing run idea(espesially in cloak mode!).

GtAll = Ground to All (ground and air), it would need long range like modern day AA vehicles with precise homing capability.

I like that idea, but I think we should keep it ground to air. It should move slow, but be able to move while shooting or something. That would be neat, kind of like a siege tank, but air. Lol.

Yeah, that's a pretty good idea. A mobile flak cannon of sorts. Medium AOE and moderate damage with a special ability that fires incendiary rounds for damage over time. Lol, it sounds more and more like CoH.
