Protoss Vs Terran so far..

heh heh we can argue this all day long but IMO the Thor much cooler and bad***.

 

I think that most people would think that Terrans are cooler as of now because we just recently just learned all their new toys/mechanics. It's still very fresh in our memories. All the Protoss new units/mechanics felt like it's ancient history. That's why most people don't find it as attractive compared to the Terran new units/mechanics.

I remembered back in May when Blizzard just announced the game, that everyone were complaining that the Protoss seems imbalanced, and everyone jumping onto their bandwagon because they seemed soo cool. These kind of stuff will always happen when we learn something new. Once that new feeling dies down, then it is more fair to judge which is better/cooler.

 

Well, also remember that all the old preferances and biases from SC1 are still around

I've always loved the protoss style and I like all the new units overall.

I also love what they've done with terran and all thier new buildings/units look very cool.

I just think little floating cities are cooler than walking ones

I have long been a fan of protoss, and I think they are just getting cooler!

 

Protoss are getting what they used not to be -> mobile. mobility used to be a zerg feature, now with warping and blinking protoss are far more flexible than before.

 

this is probably because blizzard has already changed the mechanics of the zerg, no doubt they will be better at stuff they sucked at before

 

Well the terran is getting the popularity rigth but heres my reason for liking terrans.
1. god damn tempest replace my carrier sorry but battlecruiser owns them all
2. terran must have lockdown and the shield away whatever it will be called
3, vulture sucked.. cobra with attacking while moving will pawn those slow moving units..reavers..dragoons.
4.marines looks better.. they dont fall like lings now
5.battlecruisers new ability to annhilate ground
6. siege tank.. bye bye defense...sniper snipe escapees or small fighters.. thor torn through ur heavy units and soak damage

surr.. cobras were made to kill zealots, not goon or even less reavers. Just like the vulture was.

 

Well I've always been a big terran fan so I know I will naturally overestimate the power of the protoss, I can't help it. That said, I'm just waiting for the first day the game comes out and seeing a protoss attacking my base with an army made up of nothing but zealots and stalkers. With blink those guys are going to be so freaking annoying, especially when playing a skilled player who will have them in a bunch of spread out groups blinking around all over the place.

 

I predict that protoss hit and run tactics will be the scource of tons of hair ripping and curse muttering

 

The Terran have become far more unique a race than they were in SC1. The Protoss have become more mobile, but have basically stuck to what they're good at so far. Nonetheless, I still favor the Protoss. The Protoss have that sweet blue raspberry flavor to them, with their cool glowy, powerful, and intelligent units, while the Terran have that average, but classic cherry taste; everyone likes it, but it's not really anything special, it's just there, although now in Starcraft 2 they've dubbed it: special cherry. The Zerg are sour apple, without a doubt. More primal and savage, more zingy and out there. They're more overpowering; they come at you with a swarm of flavor (lamest pun of all time intended). They've all got different things about them that you've got to love, but it's just whichever one suits you the best. And now I am done with my most random post as of yet on this forum.

 

To me it seems to be quite balanced at the moment. And when it comes to ripping hair, I think for protoss players because there are 5 banshees killing all the probes, and shortly after that:

''Is that mountain row moving?''

Nope...just 5 Thors marching towards my base.

''I need to bring my WARPRAYS...wait...Aren't those 10 vikings attacking them?''

 

On that point I do hope that phase cannons are still detectors. (Though I haven't seen any reason to think otherwise)

Both seem to have thier annoying side , protoss seem to have that ace in the hole dealie...bring in the mothership
