Wow, I never caught that before. So they're sort of like a spacefaring version of Tolkein's elves or the Night Elves in WoW... they aren't making any more of them, at least not anymore, and while they live for a long time (some can even remember events thousands of years ago), their numbers are inevitably dwindling over time, especially thanks to the recent wars.

Although if that's true... why Artanis considered to be a young Protoss? How did he come to exist if the Protoss aren't breeding? Or is the lack of proliferation a societal rule rather than a biological limitation... a rule that perhaps Artanis's parents broke?

    All in all, very intriguing.

    Like Raszagal, for example.

well i think they are reproducing but at a very slow rate. So Artanis were considered young, he aready have more than 100 years old. I think they are making kids about if they want or not. They choose to have a kid or not. They wait to be older than our artanis of course so it make a very slow reproduction.

    As well that my opinion.

I doubt Artanis' parents broke any rules. The protoss are still reproducing, just slowly.

I suspect they have reproductive problems, or have something weird like Pon'farr (so they reproduce very rarely).
