Protoss Mothership!

"Nothing is final" has been Blizzard's motto for SC2, so I'm still skeptical =P. I thought I had read that somewhere but I wasn't sure. Regardless, I think it coming out of a Stargate would look retarded, since it's about two and half times its size. That's the only real reason why I think it will have a warp in sort of ability or be built in some alternative manner.

yes, the mothership doesnt mean instant win. once its out of energy, its a sitting duck, especially if your enemy was throwing everything they have at it. Yes, the mothership is kickass, but its not invincible.

i'm thinking it might be a unit only usable in campaign but really i dunno

 

well the guy that wrote the article in the swedesh magazine was playing multiplayer and used the mothership, so therefore its in multiplayer.

also, if the mothership was singleplayer only, the protoss would be at a huge disadvantage, because the mothership is balanced by other races having multiple weaker units, that cant stand up to the ms alone, but in groups can (i.e. battlecruisers). if protoss didnt have the mothership, those groups would be much more dificult to bring down, even with equal numbers of a different unit

 

True i do agree with you it does makes sense
Before when i saw the gameplay with the commentater the units for the protoss looks like it can handle the terran units i.e. warp rays good against bc, immortals good against sieg tanks, colossus good against small swarming units etc
however i do agree with your comment, the mothership does seem to balance everything out and of course when it run out of energy it would be a sitting duck and after seeing the battle between the terran units does make the protoss abit inferior to the terrans

 

I still think that it is a bit unfair that it can just open a black hole out from no where and suck a whole fleet of space ship especially those expansive ones.
True , it is a sitting duck without energy but what kind of player would let that happen.

 

someone who uses abilities. which cost energy. therefore making it have no energy.

 

After watching a motherships get taken down with a couple of cheap Vikings today I'd say
Mothership = I just wasted a lot of money.

 

mothership got nerfed for blizzcon. lost it time bomb, black hole, and air attack, and gained a cloaking field.

Although I soiled myself when I first saw the mothership, as time wore on, I was less and less enthusiastic about it. It would probably have gone the way of the Ultralisk or Carrier in terms of multiplayer usage, and it would probably have been nerfed up the ass at the first update

i havent seen that picture before! where did you get it? first i stupidly believedt that the mothership could point where to place her time bomb, but then i just realized that it activated it, and then moved to the place in the pic, that´s a reaaaaaaally small time bomb, and after watching the turret missiles moving and hiting in the first demo even tough it was bigger, so what will this one do? not a lot of protection in my opinion, but since i havent played the game (grrrrr i hate that lol) i dont know for real.

And also the predator looks well... nice i guess

 

Based on my own observation, Protoss Mothership represents the Power of the Protoss.
