My opinions on the subject.

I don't think the Protoss have genitals like humans do. And secondly the time scale for the Protoss is very different to that of a human. For a humans 5 years is ages. It's 6.25% of our lifetime assuming we die at 80 years old. But for a Protoss 5 Earth years is only 0.5% of their lifetime, assuming they live to 1000 years old which the lore says the can.

The whole point here is even if the Protoss could have sex and reproduce, they would find such an act to be pointless, cause it is so much effort for such a short period of pleasure. That is assuming Protoss orgasms were the same length as a humans.

Well more on topic I would guess the Protoss do not have sex and reproduce like humans. I think it's more like plant or sea coral. Where the male and female spit their geletic material (be it spores and pollen or sperm and eggs or whatever the protoss use) into some medium. Be it a bucket of water or something. And the male and female material would join there and start creating the new Protoss being.

But of cause the Protoss are a heavily religious group of beings. And I'm sure this excretion of reproductive matter would just not happen out in the open. It'd happen in some religious chamber, and the protoss would be hidden from general view for liek 100 years. I would guess the protoss have a young just like humans have babies. If you look at Artanis from SC1, he looks young. I would think 20-30 in humans years or maybe 200-300 protoss years old.

I would think the Protoss would have a long childhood just like humans do. And in that childhood, just like the human one we cram the kids heads full of knowledge so they can be smart adults.

And then there is the question, why are the Protoss not faced with the issue of over population like Humans are? My theory is that their excretion of reproductive materials to make the new Protoss babies can only happen at certain times of their lives. So in short this limits the number of Protoss children each Protoss can Parent.

But they don't raise their children. As never hear them speak of children. Until Artanis came onto the scene I never heard the Protoss refer to anything Protoss as old. He was the first Protoss thing refered to as young. So I think the community as a whole raises the Protoss babies. And makes sure they can handle their own psychic talents.

That's about all the ideas I have now.
