I havent tried all these wierd compositions...

but i've tried stuff in a testmap that showed 33 ~(200suply)~ thors beat 400 zerglings if the thors are backed up by a cliff (wich they are in most maps)
so zerglings are probably not the best way to go

    and 3 ~(6 suply)~ roaches cant beat 1 thor
    so they suck aswell
(i've tried 5 roaches vs 1 thor and the roaches barely won)

and mutas also suck cause of the splash damage of the thors

Ultralisks are quite different though... i've tried 1 thor vs 1 ultralisk (with no upgrades) and the thor just won with like 10-20 hp or something xD
so i dont think that 33 ultras would win vs 33 thors... although i haven't tried it yet

then theres hydras... but thats most likely going the same way as the roaches as i dont think 3 hydras can beat 1 thor..... maybe... xD

oh yeah and as i said before infestors are not an option when its laggin as much as it does on my computer...

    and thors counter banelings....

BUT broodlords are the only unit that might be usefull vs the mighty thors!! ^^
i've tried 50 broodlords ~(200 suply)~ vs 33 thors and the broodlords actually win if the thors aren't microed and if the broodlords are spread out a bit...
but 1 lonely viking could ruin the life of the big floffy broodlords D:

so yeah as far as i know broodlords are the only way to go vs thors ._.

Hate to sound nasty, but your example based on surply do hide a painfull truth about thors.. there expencive as hell.

Ultra's vs thor in numbers is a little complex and based on microing. Basicly if you have 8 ultras charge 8 well spaced thors, the thors will win easy. But if you managed to get the thors clumped up and attacked from more than one direction... there screwed.

    Makki...you disappoint me.

For one, you are talking about single-unit compositions. You base the fact that only brood lords work on thors on a retardedly over-simplified simulation. Thus you sound stupid.
I always have weird unit compositions, in order to cover many bases :)

The mutas i threw in was for psycology.
Opponent: LULZ MUTAS?!?! HAHAHA THORS GO FOCUS FIRE!!!!
You: muahahaha my grounds are all safe and sound
Opponent: Oh SHIZ ground units, weritosdfjsldfuiosalkdj do I DO?! wait -- the mutas will die faster! (focus-fires mutas, killing them within 3 seconds. haha!!
You: *tearing thors apart, grealy decreasing their DPS to your ground units.*
and the weirdness will push your opponent's brain into "yo wtf"?

Unit simulations are deffinitely not bad, but you have to take all variables into consideration like mineral cost, gas cost, total cost, instead of only supply cost...

Maybe 33 thors lose to 400 zerglings but a 400 zergling army costs 10k minerals while a 33 thor army costs 9900 minerals +6600 gas.

Try sending half the zerglings and replace the other half with roaches instead. The thors can't target-fire all those roaches and will pick zerglings to kill resulting in tons of thor damage wasted on zerglings which overkills them by almost double damage and get owned by roaches...

Broodlords are also not a unit you'll want to send in the fight alone. Broodlords do lots of damage, but their awsomeness also comes in the form of broodlings. These little bastards absorb a considerate amount of enemy fire, while also doing some little damage on their part. A roach/hydra army for example with broodlords for support will tear thors appart(since they do crap damage to broodlords being armored, they overkill broodlings which are free cannon fodder and target-firing small, base units like roaches or hydras is never ideal anyway, but you will have to do it since you can't escape such an army with thors only so better do some damage in the meantime...

Doing lab tests on unit vs unit combos and army compositions is always a good thing since it will provide some insight on the fight. Doing it with a friend is even better since you can also micro both armies that way and try the same thing in different situations like choke points etc. You just have to not make conclusions without first analysing them...

okay guys... first of all i've figured out a couple of things here
the first thing is that i was only talking about suply
-and the reason for that is cause it meant to be lategame-mass-thors and not just the "counters" to thors
obviously when your not counting suply 20 zerglings easily beat one thor but when the opponent has 200/200 suply thors or other units wich usually happens around the end-game then nothing is able to beat them
and at that point it doesn't matter how much ressources you have 'cause you cant spend them on units

the other thing is that i was wrong about the banelings.... 400 banelings are actually able to beat 33 thors...

    Makki, first thing is that

YOUR ARMY SHOULD NOT BE COMPOSED OF ONLY ONE FREAKIN UNIT.

    and omgliekwtffreallywowliekretarded 400 banelings > 33 thors.
    Wait, isnt a baneling 1 supply? o.o

Speedlings are like the Marines and Zealots of the Zerg in terms that they are basic infantry units that only cost Minerals. Using the Gas on Air Units. Having Sneaky Expansions on Big Maps is also important for Zerg. Speedlings, Mutas, Corrupters, and Broodlords are very formidable (especially with Armor Upgrades) and mobile (excellent for Attacking Mineral Lines and Expansions 8' )

Again even in this case, that is where the power of zerg shines. At 200/200 zerg can keep piling up larvae on their hatcheries and when you decide to engage keep reinforcing your army with newly made units. That kind of push will crush any kind of 200/200 army with slow as hell reinforcing.
