So, keep the units and everything. Cool, I've always wanted to play Starcraft again. Hell, why are we even changing the graphics, let's just leave it like the original. I mean, all we hear is what Blizzard is doing wrong with graphics, anyway. Also, don't even think about changing the resource system.

I think I like posession better though.
Banshees are easier to produce and using posession doesn't leave you with a powerless unit

SC64...I tired to use that to get my friend *who was only into consoles* into the game....it didn't work. The controls were way too awkward.

Ok so If you really can use every unit from starcraft in the starcraft2 campaign editor, will you be able to allow those units to be manufacteured in a building?
What about heroes? could you allow heroes to be created in buildings? for instance could kerrigan be made from the hatchery?
Will there be an appearance of the old heroes from starcraft in the editor such as fenix(zeolot)?, Artanis?, and even kerrigan(not infested)

Same is true in starcraft as well keeping old units and adding original new units would create more strategies for different players.

Hopefully that will get some comments LOL.

It's not our fault you weren't clear in the OP. This thread is titled "Please leave the original starcraft units," a title that everyone will assume means leave the old units at the expense of the new ones. If you had titled it "Will all of the old SC units be in SC2?" or something of that nature, then we wouldn't have misunderstood you. Your actual post did nothing to clarify, either.

Secondly, watch your attitude. Just because we all misunderstood you is no reason to direct foul language at us. It only makes you out to be an a-hole who thinks his way is best.

Well now you get EXACTLY what you asked for another comment. My comment is to stop whining and just stay with Starcraft. As has been told to you many times already all the things you have asked for to be in SC2 are in there. That is an editor related answer. Take some time and look there is a tool called Search, use it its at the top of your screen.

If you want your opinion to be respected don't swear. It doesn't earn you any respect here. In fact I respected your post a wee bit before this, but now this is just you whining again because not everyone agrees with your "Original" idea. Here are the forum rules. Now, I will quote them so you don't have to waste your time reading them.

Space Junk may allow it, but not any other part of the forum. Face facts buddy. This is Starcraft 2, not Starcraft:Brood War in 3D. There are sprites to do that, but the main game is not that. End of story.

In Warcraft III, structures can build anything, even completely new tech trees. You can make an "old Terran tech tree" and even create an associated AI file, if that's what you want. StarCraft II's editor will be at least as powerful.

Heroes can be made from buildings in Warcraft III, but having Kerrigan made in a building is silly.

Artanis will be in StarCraft II, as he's one of the two main Protoss characters. Even if he's not a Scout, you can easily replicate him by:

    1) "Cloning" the Scout unit.
    2) Putting Artanis' voice and portrait on it.
    3) Giving it Artanis' StarCraft I stats.

Making other heroes will be a bit more complicated, as you'll have to create your own portraits, and copy the StarCraft I voice files.

Well, to get back on topic with the thread.

I'm actually glad there are little or no units from the first Starcraft because this is a sequel not just a remake. I want to see new things and new characters. I think they are doing a good job so far with keeping the feel with the first one and adding fresh things to it.

Having ALL of the units from Starcraft 1 would be tired and crowded if they added new units as well. I don't want a rehash of the first Starcraft I want something new with the same fast paced action and balance the first one was known for.

  15. I agree with all of the units, axed units, and old units to be used in the mapeditor but not in actual gameplay.

    Long live the old units!

If you fully want to 3D-up starcraft .. would uphill miss percentages (as well as fog revelation of attacking units) be able to be turned on in the map editor (even if it's not in i'd still buy SC2).

Hell lets make fun with game, blizzard should go around to all of these forums, and look at all of the proposed units, look at all of there axed units, old units. I don't think I could get bored mixing and matching all of the different units in custom maps.

You know when you come to think of it, including all of the original Starcraft units is an extremely smart strategy on behalf of Blizzard. It will make SC2 more attractive to SC1 players. I can't be too sure tough.

One of Blizzard's goals when making a strategy game is to have as few units as possible. The units should be as unique and diverse as possible and that's why a race in Starcraft can't have 30 units...

Well that shouldn't be a goal of blizzard. Having more units makes you feel like your really fighting a war.
