Blizzard is definitely going overboard with this coloring scheme of theirs... even if it may help one micro their units a bit easier (although I personally don't think it would make any sort of difference), it is not worth going against the good old fashioned Starcraft we're used to. Keep the pylons and psi-energy blue, please.

I think the colours are done well and as long as they keep that protoss colour scheme (like how protoss is always bright and shiny...they all must ADD like no other) it will look good and wont detract from the awesomeness or make it harder to play the game.

I know this isn't Warcraft in space, it's much more sophisticated, but in WarIII, they had grey, and I don't see why they wouldn't now. It's a totally awesome color for warriors to be.

I seriously doubt that this will make microing that much easier. It was easy enough to micro with the old color scheme, the pros are a good enough example of that. The new color additions to the psi-blades, pylons, and most of Terran might be decent if we had a different perspective to look from. I would like to see how they would look with the brightness turned down or neon effect lessened.

    Re: Taste the rainbow

lol when i first saw this thread name i thought you guys would be talking about skittles >< make your thread names more clear please. and i agree the pylons are horrible looking now. tanks too ><. eh i liked the color how it was in sc1 that way your allied partners could tell their splash units not too get too close to your units. if they had the same colors then you'd have to check the minimap or click on each individual one. both are way more complicated than just looking at what's on the screen

    Re: Taste the rainbow

A player might get grey mixed up with white. I personally find white a better colour than grey, so let's hope they keep it white.

Ok, Uchiha, I'll change the title.

I can't complain, but I liked the old color schemes better as well. They're meant to distinct the tribes from each other, not using different kind of psi.

Just because the max players is eight, it doesn't mean they can't have more than eight colors to choose from.

Presonally I kinda like the different colors and don't see what the big deal is. They will most likely still be blue in the SP campaign. And if you don't like the look of the new colors then just choose blue when you are playing MP or skirmish.

I agree, there is a point at which personalization can be taken too far. The foundations of a race, in this case psi and pylons as an energy source, should not really be altered to match the multi-player flare.

I had already posted elsewhere regarding the color schemes, and I'm backing up those who agree that it isn't that big of a deal. In fact, I kind of found it to be a pretty creative way of going at it. I mean, honestly, when you're playing a multiplayer game, it becomes about the challenge between people and what not, and I don't see a strong need to preserve the "narrative consistency" with the Starcraft universe during such a match. And, as someone else mentioned earlier, I'm sure that the Psi colors will be consistently defaulted to blue during SP, which is the only place the accuracy of psi color would matter in my opinion.

I'd totally be a pink Zerg, what's more awesome than fluffy pink mutated rabbits (zerglings) eating marines? Yeah, nothing.

Come to think of it I wonder if the Zerg have fallen prey to the rampant color scheme. I would not be at all surprised to see the Zerg creep changing color based on the player.

creep wasn't really much of a team thing, if you ask me. They probably won't change creep color. Red creep or purple creep would look nice, but it'd look shi**y as hell if there was green, blue, yellow, or brown creep.

Well the creep in SC1 was a brown/purplish color, and i hope you'll be able to CHOOSE your color that would be sweet.

lol, creep is essentially dead ground, atleast thats what raynor said in the second terran mission of the original, and i dont think that death should come in an assortment of colours

Creep is a bio-mat that feeds Zerg units and structures. Probably some sort of seriously mutated plant/fungus growth. In that sense it could easily be any color.

And I've seen creep in weird colors... sometimes my computer glitches out and displays the colors all wrong...the water goes all rainbow-y and the creep can be blue... or bright violet. Weird stuff. If Blizzard decides to color the creep, I doubt they'll make it bright, but they might go for dull versions of weird colors.

i doubt it would be color creep to ur player. what if one player builds in another man's creep? you'd have wierd color mixing creep.
