I was just about to start a similar thread. Since Starcraft 2 is coming out, I got back into the original as well as the map editor. I created an eight-mission campaign entitled Raynor's Revenge. It concerns events after Brood War from the perspective of Raynor's Raiders, and the missions progress from easiest to hardest. It even deals with Duran and the hybrids (but not very intensively). I am eager to try other people's maps, and would like feedback on my campaign/testing for appropriate difficulty or avoidance of bugs I missed.

So if anyone would like to try out my campaign, I can e-mail it to you or upload it here once we figure out how! And I would be thrilled to play other's maps too!

The legendary Ne Map Pack. 46 unique maps.

My largest map pack, split into two subsections: One for my good maps, one for my less good (but still pretty awesome) maps. 49 map files total, 46 maps total. Almost all of them are melee, and the few UMS maps are not very trigger heavy. I made most of my triggered maps a while ago and they have since been lost between disk reformats. I do have some of my oldest maps, recovered from a friend. If you ever catch me online, you can now impress me by challenging me on one of my own maps!

If you want to see some weird mineral setups, take a look at The Valley, Scantid's Eye, and Nine Line. Weird terrain... well, that's pretty much all of them. Take a look at the ultimate team turtle map: Frozen Battlements II, the ultimate undefendable map: Nova Platform, and the map with the weirdest theme ever: Star Wrench. Judge maps only by their names? Well you might want to avoid Ne Zee, War For Sale, and Bear Spine Bridges. This map pack also contains the single best-balanced (or at least, most fun) version of Mini Starcraft in existence. Unless you're looking for money maps, I've got something for everyone!

thanks for making the thread title so....errr....unique? :p

that's a lot of maps! nice details and all :O
even though most have strategical problems, we are sick of generic competitive maps right? :p
so i guess i like most of them. some of them seem nearly identical to some blizzard maps o_O
and some are just toooooooooooooooooo symmetrical :p
    and lol@all fair series

    all-in-all good job ;) guess it's worth a power-up lol

    Notes:
    - There are some disadvantages to both Protoss and Zerg players if they expect to expand early game, but this really depends upon their build order and whether they wish to dominate the map resource-wise.
    - Three chokes.
    - Easily accessible natural.
    - High-yield resources above and below naturals, each mineral node contains 3,500 minerals.
    - Map image does not completely show doodads and other bits.

    Comments and criticism welcome~!

PowerkickasS: I actually made this thread myself, then merged it with yours, but I did it wrong and yours came out on top. I decided not to mess with it because it still got the point across.

I've found that the best way to eliminate complaints about a map being unfair is to make it unquestionably symmetrical. For some reason people will take it for granted that a Blizzard map is completely fair, but "just some player" is assumed to make unfair maps (and will go on to blame the map as they are beaten.) I make it hard for them to justify that with the hyper-symmetry. Also, for the most part, it just looks cool.

    Topic unpinned and locked.

I have unpinned and locked this topic as it no longer serves any real purpose because we now have a full forum dedicated to map making.
