How long does it take you to tech up to observers in a normal game do you get them early mid or late? Read my quote because it says early game, make sure you read fully what someone says because you quote them, and welcome to the forums. Normally Zerg can scout using OL pretty well if they're good with upgrading etc. and even then they have alot of OL which can cover alot of ground. The terran buildings I'm expecting them to not be hard to tech to since they don't deal damage and are immovable. Protoss have the weakest form of patrol in that they have to use zealots which cost a lot when compared to other early units.

Edit: In other words, early game Protoss gain the most from this because i'm expecting these observatories to be used early game not late game. Late game observers are used to detect enemy units. Early game units that can scout are used to patrol for early rush attack and to figure out what units can be used to counter your enemy.

Accually, it takes not too long to get to observers. Ussually it's on the way if you're going to get reavers/drops. anyways, terran have the weakest scouting unit imo. The scv because the probe and drone have a longer life span when scouting the base becuase they regenerate, where the scv doesn't.

Terran have Comsat though, which is arguably the best scouting tool available.

I think Hong is right in the aspect that this is gonna be used a lot more in early game as opposed to late game. I know that when I play Protoss, I'm extremely frustrated at the fact that observers are in late tech tree

Again you're taking into consideration that you've already decided what to build. I'm saying teching to Observers is a long way if you want to decide what to build against your opponent. Whereas terran with their Comstat and Zerg with their OL have the advantage because thats just apart of their natural build.
