Well that really depends on the casting range of the Nullifier, plus wouldn't it be a fun bit of Micro to drop the Null's behind the enemy and box them into a canyon or something.

I see the FF used more for blocking chokes and spliting forces, not boxing in enemy units. That would reguire four walls to do it, meaning 2 nulifiers and having the cast all four walls right after each other so there is less chance of them getting out of it, which would mean only those with extremely good microing would be able to effectively pull off.

Which is my point, as it is the FF would be useful for players with less micro skills as well as be a great pro microing tool

I think it would be nice if the forcefield were placed like buildings in C&C where you click to sett the location and drag to select direction and it is cast when you release the mouse button.

I think something close to that will happen. You will need to be able to control what direction the FF will be cast if it is to be useful in all situations.

*cough*casters can transfer energy*cough*100 energy pool can still mean limitless energy if you have enough of other casters around.

not if its a one to one transfer which it most likely would be, but either way it would still be very useful

I think it will be like the Thor's bombard ability. Just click the FF icon, and then place out the template.

Nullifier does not sound like a good name for a Protoss unit, its too technical. That would be like calling each unit by what it FUNCTIONS as. I don't mind it personally, it just seems crude and uncreative. Might as well call High Templar "Psionic Storm Emitters", and Carriers "Interceptor Deployer".

    Lol nice one.

But Prodigal is kinda of right, look at the things we name our war machines. Apache (bad ass helicopter) is a noun not the adjective describing what the unit is. They should have an original name for the unit then have an adjective under the main name kinda like Terran how they had ''1st lutienent'' and whatever else.

    Examples:

    Star Relic
    Nullifer

    Twilight Archon
    Psionic Entity

    <insert protoss dialect here>
    Mothership

    <insert protoss dialect here> (Carrier)
    Flagship

I don't know... But I'm sure you see what I'm saying.

Well one skill is 30, if you have 3 Nullifiers(not an insanely bad idea) that means with max energy of 100 you get 9 force fields AND with energy transfer you get one more. Sure it is limited use but 10 instead of 9 can make the difference. Hopefully the transfer won't be less then 1:1 because then I doubt it could see a lot of use.

Along with that, if you have 2 High Templars, they can spam their storms and with energy regen and transfer have enough for one more. Energy transfer is going to allow those last ditch effort kind of stuff to happen which can help in a pinch.

True enough, and like I said it would make the Null's transfer ability every helpful.

And for everyone who doesn't like the name Nullifier I suggest you think of a better name before you complain about the current one. Meaning no disrespect of course, I just want to see what everyone else can come up with

    Welcome to the forums, ironpanda.

However, your speculation was all for naught, as Blizzard revealed in the last Q & A that Null Void is an area of effect cast that renders enemy units unable to use abilities that require energy.

Edit - I thought that sounded familiar! Next time use the quote button!
