While not knowing esactly how the nomads abilties are going to function. The nomad does seem like a better unit overall and blizz will hopefully make the graphic on it a little better.

I am pretty sure the nomad heals instantly that is what it said. I can''t belive they can replace the science vessel! If the nomad could shoot and if it were bigger then it probably could be a super unit. Oh yeah and beef it up some.

Personally, it was a tough choice, I liked both equally...but irradidate was the push-over..I chose Sci-vessel because of that factor...I think nano repair can be scrapped....Believe it or not, the Nomad did look really good in actual game play.. it doesn't seem so hot untill you play the game... the 3 spot lights is what I liked the most about the design.

They should make it so that the ghost snipes passivly that way, they could work like zealots and charging. Instead of telling your ghosts to snipe, they would snipe the units highest up in the food chain then the drones.

Yes, perhaps the lights change the way it feels. It looked just like a yellow box (is Raito going to get killed inside it? lol * ), or like a sub-sea exploration unit. But you got to admit that the legs are pretty ugly! It better have some nice flying saucer effects. And that skill, it should be somehow nerfed.

    * for whoever gets this joke!

Well, if I'm playing against Zerg I'd probably have to say science vessel but against other Terran or Protoss I like the Nomad. The repair ability would be very helpful to my mechanical fleets and armies. The improvement to defensive matrix is also very nice.

EMP is sick though... would be deadly for protoss melee units....

Still in the process.. it's such a pain to upload all of the photos to a hosting website cause they are in such high resolution so it takes me like an hour and a half for 20 photos... hopefully it will be done by tonight.. cross your fingers!

Yeah, the first time I saw it I was all like what the hell is that thing? Didn't give any me resemblance to anything we have now. It doesn't look very Starcrafty though, I can't tell how that nomad is on red team... It is too colorful.

I posted them up on protoss units and terran units threads... they may be nothing new to you.. but I knew that everyone would have pics of all the units by the end of Blizzcon anyways, I just wanted to get stat info and data on the units abilities

Well it's interesting as both units do serve their respective purposes.

The Science Vessel, provided that it retains Irradiate, Defensive Matrix and EMP Shockwave, then it does serve it's purpose in that regard.

As for The Nomad, is primary role would be to repair air units, specifically repairing air units whilst such units are "on" terrain which is generally impassable by SCVs (water, space, tar pits etc). Likewise, it can also be the main repair unit of air units altogether. (SCVs, will not gain this ability, and it is generally somewhat (though not impossible) ridiculous to see an SCV repair an air unit that is supposedly several KM in the air.
Currently it is stated that it will take 75 energy to repair 200 HP, whilst we are unaware about the rate of repair, it has been noted that this format currently does not use Minerals nor Gas. If that were the case, then this capability could potentially be easily abused.

Then we have the final piece of this puzzle, the Starport/Starbase. We know that the Starbase can build air units whilst in flight, so why not repair them too? Likewise the Starport too could repair air units whilst it is stationary on the ground. If this could be taken as a possibility, then it would render the Nomad possibly obsolete.

So, taking into these accounts, I'd say the Science Vessel, with the Nomad only if it's repair function is radically changed (and of course the current model design ;) (and then of course it should always be noted, that this is a unit of function, with it supposedly hovering above the air unit to be repaired in order to repair it or something like that))

Yeah, the SCV couldn't satisfyingly follow the BCs while repairing them. Together with Predator's defenses, Nomad is made to make the Terran air much tougher.

But differently from WC3, where any skill could be easily explained by "magic", skills in Starcraft must make sense! If BCs aren't protected by a force shield, then it's healing must require the usage of the same materials that were required in the making of that ship.

If they scrapped Black Hole from Mother F. Ship for less than that, same should work for this healing skill of the Nomad. It must cost minerals and gas to work. Otherwise it's the defensive matrix that will became underused: ppl will just save the energy preferably for the "magical" healing.

Even the medics' miraculous healing had some kind of explanation: uber drugs to be used on the battle-field and extend the life of a soldier. Nomad's must make sense too.

Ummm.... does anyone else think of the WC3 scout plane for the humans? The avatar has a truck hat and everything!!!!

That or a flying Gypsy plane.... I don't know which lmao......

Anyway, I had to vote for it because at least its a new unit. Needs a total redesign though. Did they eat an especially bright cereal the day they came up with that? It's like a Lucky Charm....
