Rex, i would assume it is the outlies of the nuke marker in the middle of the Stalkers beeing warped in, the ones the BC is fireing at. Either that - or the outer perimeter of a Sensor Tower.

I see the line, but I have no idea what it's supposed to be. It doesn't look like it's supposed to be part of the environment or effects. It's definately not the line for the area maximum of the towers.

My best guess would be maybe a line showing a unit is going to move through that area, but I highly doupt that, since there would be more of them and if would be very distracting to have a bunch of red lines all over the place.

I am 99% sure that line has something to do with the sensor tower. But what its purpose is, is beyond me.

Lord just gave me an idea, could the line be the final animation for the sweeping beam that revolved around the towers as they were tracking the area? The line in the demo vid was much easier to see, but maybe they changed it to that red line that is on the page.

Blizzard mentioned that the sensor tower's range would be visible to the enemy, so I assume that is what it is.

Do the firebats look changed at all? I really can't tell.
The exploding marine looks sweet, courtesy of the colossus.
    Where is the High Templar?
Finally, the ghost is going to die soon as it has 3 zealots attacking it, will the nuke still strike?

After looking at the picture again, if they red line is for the sencor tower, where is the tower? If the tower is off the page, then the tower has a massive AoE, and I'd call that imba.

Also, where is the ghost at that is launching the nuke? I know it's got to be nearby, but I can't seem to find it.

The sensor tower is in the first picture, and from were it is placed it makes sense that, that line belongs to it because of the curvature.

It is in the middle of the second picture, maybe just a little down and to the left of the exact center.

Edit: It is more directly to the right of the Twilight Archon.

I agree with Lord, the way the line curves, it has to be the max range for the tower. The tower's position fits perfectly as the middle of the circle that the curved line is forming. The line can be a little hard to see if you're not looking for it, thus, enemies can see the range, but it can still be hard to find. Also, the cloaked units are outside the range, meaning there is another tower nearby placed farther back.

@ DE.50, thx for pointing him out, he blends in with the ground so he is hard to see.

That is the radius of the Sensor tower that allows people to see where the tower is. Edit:I believe also it is the radius of the detection for invisible units that the tower has.

Sensor and radar towers are crazy for defensive terran players. Screw if they can see your base, Towers give you the ability to react before they even get near.

See, its balanced out. You can see their units as they are approaching, but they know exactly where your base is. Both sides get an advantage and disadvantage, but the terran advantage is greater because they are the ones that are building it.

It would be an interesting effect. It's possible that players could build a sensor tower in the middle of nowhere and build a few more buildings next to it so it looks like your base and use that as a diversion.

I'm quite sure this is going to be a sign that Zerg will be coming VERY soon. If you look back to the days before Blizzcon they were releasing screenshots about every other week. Problem is there's no real event coming up so it's kinda awkward.

Your plan still has merit. I can see SC maps where a sensor in the middle of the map wouldn't be wasted and would be so effective as an early warning system AND still be a good distraction for the enemy to go after instead of you.

i think that what happen in the screenshot, the protoss see the sensor tower and they run after it only to find out that they're running into a nuke

I think that's a pretty good plan. Nuke ambushes near sensor towers.

That sensor plan is entirely intended and even pointed out on SC2.com.

Starcraft2 looking better now!!!!! the nuclear missile on the photo looks great. I'm still hoping to find more about zerg units hehehe. firebats are in there too. If they don't make it to SC2, well, at least Blizzard give'em one last try.
