Good vehicle design fits into starcraft artistically (because of it being made out of the train) - not as a terran MP replacment for hellion however

    UPDATE:
VERSION 2 DESIGN (smaller, slimmer, and sexier)

    http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/798/hellionnn222copy.jpg

what do you think of this model for the cobra or diamond back model? i think it looks good with the rail gun or electric gun of the diamon back. And it looks darker just like the marauder and heavy armored as well.

Haven't you just squashed it? The angles are all messed up now. It's messing with my engineeringly-calibrated brainstuffs.

As mentioned above, if the angles were fixed ofr model two it would be awesome. Although does blizzard have any units that just "hover" instead of fly? How difficult would it be for them to incorparate hovering into there engine I wonder.

I thought the Diamond Back was supposed to be this elite version of the Crucio Tank, which we still haven't seen the model of yet. Why would it have an electric gun?

Version two isn't as good as the first one. You can't take something blocky and squish it to make it fit the role of something fast. You would need to start all over with a sleeker design from the beginning. The Hellion model you made is simply not supposed to be fast. It's more like an alternative model for the Firebat.

@Sarkfall. Hovering is already in the game. Drones, Probes, SCV:s, Archons, Soul Hunters, Cobras and Vultures all hover.

It's still a different design, as in, version two isn't version one just squashed, but yeah, squashing it doesn't make anything look smaller, and definitely not sexier. It just makes it look squashed.

And yeah, no electric guns for the Terran. There's a reason the Cobra's gun was scrapped.

    They are Cobras, not Diamondbacks.

that was my first idea unfortunately i can't find any awesome looking treads to use/edit. the hellion buggy treads is a failure and im a shame to use it.

Well if it is the Diamondback, it uses the exact same model. They still appear to be listed as separate units.

If it is different, I just hope they haven't retained their electric attack.

You can see the attack here Itza.

It looks very thin and linear. I'd expect an electrical attack to sparkle around a little more, so I think we're dealing with a railgun or something here.

I really like the design. But I don't really think it suits the Hellion role. I actually don't really like the 2nd version of yours. I don't know how to explain, but it looks weird with it been slimmed/trimmed.

However, I think this model would look excellent on a new unit for SC2. It would suit perfectly for an APC role. Maybe for the expansion pack, one of the new units for the Terran is an APC unit. God, that would be awesome if it's the case. Your design would be perfect for an APC unit.

Is definetly not a helion anything.

Maybe put some huge jet boosters that make it go the speed of a marine and give it a mini missile launcher or a gattlin gun and make it shoot both ground and air. With a bonus to lightly armored guys.
You would summon them just like mules only in smaller numbers then mules and would be a supportive instant temporary defence for a freshly built town.

to be honest, any unit with a flamethrower either has to be very fast, or heavily supported. they have to walk up to their enemies to hurt them! now if their enemies could just run away quickly, they're practically useless.

thus, i don't think any tank-like hellion would work.
