Duh I missed the physical part. You killed the joke :(

Also to post something on topic, the video I posted can be found at starcraft2.hu and it's a bit longer and you can see the guy grinning and stuff so at least he didn't mean those things he typed. Still, why he took those phoenices (and yes, that's the correct way of saying it) to the Zerg base is beyond me.

Just because you can micro the Mutas it doesn't mean you can't micro the Phoenixes. Firstly, if they were to Overload, they'd most likely get as close as possible, meaning that the Mutalisks would have simply gotten obliterated before they had a chance to escape, but secondly, who ever said that all Phoenixes had to use Overload at once?

Yeah i know, but if you see the phoenixes trying to get close you get away while pressing a+move every once in a while.. in a similar fashion as how you would micro vultures against some lings...
Plus, the overload did not do 70 damage per second last time i checked. ¬¬

I thought that was one of the advantages of the Mutalisk that was practically taken out in StarCraft2, 'cause they had the full, interruptible attack animation or something. Regardless, you'd only physically need to be close if you had them all Overloading at once, which players most likely wouldn't.

And with Overload, if I remember correctly, it did something along the lines of attacking multiple enemies six times as fast and, possibly, Overload attacks dealt more damage than their normal attack, though I'd have to check that. Regardless, it was like splitting each of your Phoenixes into six separate Phoenixes.

yeah, that will surelly get several mutas, but Remember there's a long cooldown time after they do it, so if 6-7 mutas manage to get out, it's gg for the phoenix(c?)es :p

Yeah, that why they should be Overloaded individually, so the powered down Phoenixes are always covered, and for the Mutas to attack they've always got to face up against at least one Overloading Phoenix.

    Yes they should.
That could be a hard micro tho, cause you wont have the 5 phoenixes hotkeyed, so you'll have to select em, moven em, press "O" (hotkey?) and then go to the next one, while the mutas are being microed as a group.

But yes, Im not sure how the mutas work nowadays, cause if they need to turn to go to another direction, they would be most certainly screwed (and become a fail of a unit btw)

Not necessarily. When executing each Overload, all the Phoenixes would have to do is just sit there. All you'd really have to do is Overload one as the Mutas come near, 'cause they have to fly within Phoenix range to attack, and, due to the duration of Overload, it's not even as though you'd have to even execute it that quickly. It's just a slow and simple manoeuvre.

But yeah, they should try and keep Mutas as true to the original as possible. If they aren't, and act just like every other Air unit, then it should just be scrapped and replaced with another massable Air-to-All unit, 'cause if it doesn't act like the StarCraft1 Mutalisks, then it's not a Mutalisk.

  11. @Lombar: Blizzard found Overload to be imbalanced so maybe there's something we don't know.
