Zeratul, there's no such thing as a laser having 'compressed' energy, then detonating on the spot. That's just impossible to do.

And BoP, I completely agree. If Blizzard won't change the BC to rail guns, then there should be an option, or an upgrade for it. Or at least have a unit with rail guns.
But aren't the Thor's two main guns kind of like rail guns? They're called 'Twin Projectile Particle Accelerators' after all.

I'm not sure if they are but they don't look like they are. They are too weak looking when they fire. Thor needs more powerful guns

I think the Thor's guns are rail guns, but they should make a bigger boom...but lets get back on topic.

so how can you explain laser that explodes upon impact even on plain ground, metal, houses, buiiklding etc.) in tv, anime, comics etc.. i dont really know what makes it explode so im assuming laser are further enhance with compress energy etc or whatever that when hit something solid will cause a chain reaction and makes the energy explodes.

also because its sci fi. ^^

and the thor shoots laser as seen in the terran gameplay demo.

TV, Anime, and comics are NOT REAL. Those kinds of lasers don't and will never exist.

And no, they don't shoot lasers. In the vid, there are no lasers. They are gauss particle accelerators. AKA rail guns.

Personally I just like having the bc fire more than one projectile at once. I mean in sc it had the one shot laser with a longer cooldown. I mean com'on its a freaking capital ship there should be more than one singular cannon on it. Personally I don't care what kind of projectile it is as long as there are a lot of them.

since when did starcrat became realistic? and more or less the things im talking about lasers is much closely related to starcraft because they are all sci fi. xp

so lasers wont explode when shot in a plain wall or ground? hhmmm.... hundred more years in the future, im sure they will make experiment and research more on lasers so that they will be more than just precise lethal none explosive weapon.

so what is a gausse particle accelerators exactly? so it shoots big bullets or something? that would suck.
but in the gameplay i can see a large beam coming out from the thors guns. particle beam = laser. right?

First Gauss cannons ARE NOT the same as railguns.
Second Particle accelerators are also not railguns.

THough they are all electromagnetic weapons they all use magnetism differently to trhow different things.


Also @ Zeratul yes they throw big bullets. Those big bullets however can instantly vaporize a brick wall or a tank.

My main reason for wanting railguns is the fact that they look so much cooler when firing

why show a bad simple looking laser projectile? laser can look differently and mostly cooler than that rail gun projectile.

but yeh the explosions are better then lasers, which are really just thin beams of light EVEN in the comics.

I think its fine that so many agree that rail-guns should be in, but the much better, cooler and more ownage pew pew lasers are leading!!!

Railgun does indeed own, but so do lasers and are both seemingly effective but do the job in different ways.
