well i dont think we shuld get too much into the technical sid of things, but the eyecandy side of things, and the truth is this: railguns look freaking sweet, lasers "pew pew" well said lol in the poll.

so yeh im all for railguns! not just with the BC but any terran sort of weapons, like the thor on the terran demo? i want toactually SEE projectls flynig across my screen!

also how do these suggetsions get sent to blizzard? or do they read fansites??

Jonagle_X sends in a mothly report of our most important discussions to Blizzard to get the info to them in a nice and compact form. I vote to give BC a ''Halo-ish'' MAC GUN , base on the book, the ship version of the MAC fire a heated metal slug and shoot it useing magnetic accelerator, this process take a few minutes to charges up ( heated the slug).

The MAC gun is a gaus cannon and I do believe the Maines rifles are gauss rifles so they do already have magnetically accelerated weapons they are just small scale items

No there is a major difference.

A railgun consists of electricly charged rails and a round of a conductive material is placed between them and the power flowing through it betwwen the rails creates a magnetic field causeg presure behind the round to push it forward

A gaus cannon is a tube filled with a series of electromagnetic coils that are turned on in succession to pull the round made of a ferromagnetic material (ie iron) throught the barrel.

Both have issues with requiring large ammounts of power but the railgun produces more heat due to friction and have a tendancy to melt themselves while a guass canon has very tight timing requirements

Only lasers, maaany lasers, small and big ones Laser technology is modern tech so why not to implement this in futuristic Battlecruiser?

a battle cruiser can still look futiruistuc firing a railgun! also i think it just LOOKS cooler. flaming projectiles, or red beams?? FLAMING PROJECTILES

and there isn't any difference with railguns and gauss cannons in terms of visually and thats really what we're talking about here.

we don't need to work out WHY a bc shuld have lasers or rail guns, we just have to work out what LOOKS better. i mean i wuldnt care if the BC had trebuchets attached to it as long as it looked cool. (exaggeration)

I think the BC shuld have a bank of cannons that all fire in quick succession. each cannon wuld have a little flame/smoke effect come out of the barrel and then a blur wuld go across the screen and blow up on the enemy. depending on balancing with speed and wat not the blur mite hav 2 b removed.

Really, it's a video game. Blizzard doesn't go for realistic. Personally though, I prefer anything realistic or practical over sci-fi FANTASY.

i prefer sci-fi/fantasy...i mean cmon!..its the future..we are dead by then and the average human doesnt wanna waste money on guns and bombs and missiles and wateva..so they go for laser technology.

oh and hey! doesnt missile require petrol to go?...by then there is no more petrol in this world.

lol that made me laugh btw. i was picturing a age of empires 2 trebuche on top of a fricken BC..ROFL!! =D

yeh it wuld look badass especially if u culd get it as a unit in age of empires or medieval total war.

oh and as for petrol hello they aren't on earth anymore, probably petrol everywhere.

and toss already have lasers, two teams with lasers is dull. have one team with lasers (toss) and one team with xplosive projectiles (terran) and then just noob zerg who use acid and meele

but yeh ppl make this a request that u send to blizzard plz??

No missiles do not use petrol. Most use solid rockets because its cheaper and simpler but some have liquid fueld rockets in which case hydrogen or a hydrogen compund (usually hydrozene) is used.
